"Came out and gave me a quote right away. They work with you and around your schedule. Came out with a whole crew and installed sod quickly and right. Cleaned up after themselves and left. I would definitely use them again."

"Very hard working and dedicated team! Removed and re-poured my aging and cracked back yard concrete porch. Very detailed and knowledgeable. Properly re-leveled the surface with gravel prior to pouring. Coordinated with other contractors working on a separate project to make sure job is done right and exceeded my expectations. This team is highly reliable! I strongly recommend if you need help with your home projects!!!"

"Dale planted 20 arborvitae for me and did an excellent job. His line and spacing were perfect and he was very knowledgeable on fertilizing them and keeping them stable while the roots take hold. I almost attempted to do this myself but I'm so glad I hired Dale instead. He worked incredibly **** ** this project. It's been maybe 4 weeks now and they are looking great!"

"Communications are excellent. Very responsive in supplying the quote, answering questions and confirming the services. Doug has a very strong agronomy background. Talk to him about it! Dandelions are popping up all over the neighborhood...but not on our lawn. After using many different services for over 20 years, I feel that Jake's is off to a great start with our lawn....and I feel that it will continue."

FAQs for trees & shrubs treat, protect and maintain projects in Ann Arbor, MI

A tree doctor or tree surgeon is another term for an arborist. The term is more common in places like the United Kingdom. They are professionals trained to plant, care for, maintain, diagnose, and remove trees of all kinds. Tree doctors have specialized knowledge to ensure the health and safety of trees.

Arborists are tree care specialists who plan, maintain, and enhance the health of trees with expert precision. They prune, diagnose diseases, treat pest infestations, remove hazardous limbs, and manage debris cleanup while developing comprehensive landscaping plans. They also handle tree planting and work with landscape professionals to ensure long-term tree vitality and safety.

Consulting arborists are tree experts who can advise homeowners and business owners on the right trees to plant, how to care for existing trees, and what to do about trees that appear to be sick or pose a safety threat. A consulting arborist may work with local landscape architects, investment property owners, city governments, developers, and other arborists.

An arborist may be able to save a dying tree. If you notice that your tree suddenly appears to be sick or is exhibiting unusual behavior, contact an arborist immediately. They will thoroughly inspect the tree to determine what might be wrong with it—and will let you know if it’s possible to save the tree and how to do it.

Verifying an arborist’s credentials is crucial for reliable tree care. Arborists must be licensed by their state and hold certifications from reputable organizations such as the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA). Request proof of licensing and certification, and review local recommendations to ensure you are hiring a professional who meets high industry standards and adheres to strict safety protocols.
