"David did an amazing job repairing our existing hardwood floors throughout most of our apartment (living room, dining room, and 2 bedrooms) and then also a complete removal and installation of hardwood floors in our hallway. The duplex house we live in has been in our family for 3 generations and the hardwood floors in our apartment were the original white oak wood floors. They were very damaged by 3 generations of pets as well. We decided it was time to fix the apartment and got several quotes. When I spoke with David he was very knowledgeable and reasonably priced, so we decided to hire him. We’re so happy we did. He was able to retain and refurbish most of the original floor. He removed the parts that were too damaged from pets and wear and replaced those with new wood that matched our white oak. The hallway floor was not salvageable so it was completely removed and new floors were installed to closely match the original floor. David did an incredible job and our floors look beautiful. He even installed a border on one side of the living room to match the borders around the other sides. Everything is a custom fit and we really appreciated David’s care with our floors and home. "I learned about Surface Experts as I was preparing my condo for sale (a 3,600 square foot waterfront unit in downtown St Pete). The painters and other workers getting it in shape had done a great job, but when everything else was finished, the floors stuck out like a sore thumb. The tile, which was about half the floor space in addition to a 1,200 foot terrace outside, had lost its luster; grout was in need of repair and some areas had various degrees of discoloration. The wood floors were also in need of serious cleaning to remove hundreds of splatter spots left by the painters, as well as some additional touch-up. When entering the unit and walking around, the floors and especially the tiling detracted intensely from the otherwise new-looking condo. My realtor called in a couple of specialists to provide quotes, and they informed us that a number of tiles needed to be removed and replaced but, because they could not be matched, we were actually looking at possible re-tiling more than an entire room in the process. The realtor then recommended Paul at Surface Experts, and told me he had had very positive past experiences with his services in the past. The result was stunning. Paul arrived and made a thorough inspection of the flooring, and then came up with a plan to bring it back to life. His plan did not involve replacing any tiles at all. He and his able assistant Erica spent a whole day polishing and cleaning all floor surfaces, leaving them looking 100% better. I was happy at that point. But after waiting a couple of days for complete drying of the grout, they came back and spent another day and a half working on grout repairs and enhancements, as well as working on the wood floors. When I returned to see the finished product, I could not believe the transformation. It looked better than it ever had. It literally looked better than new. All the furniture was back in place and the floors glistened and it was ready to put on the market. I am sure that the unit will now sell more quickly, and it will probably have a final sale price markedly higher than it would have had the floors not been so dramatically improved. I believe the net difference will be dozens of times greater than the very fair cost of the services that Surface Experts performed. Aside from the obvious results and the return on investment, I enjoyed my interactions with this team. Paul is refreshingly old school in his approach, a proud true craftsman, who has a laser focus on the project, an emphasis on quality and communications, and meticulousness in every detail.
