He gave me a fair price and finished the work on time as he promised. He works and his crew are very polite and professional. Every day he greeted us when he came and notified us when he left and asked our opinion about the color of the paint very early in the process. He paid attention to details and did extra work without charge (power washed the drive way and fixed one of the handrail boards of the deck). We were very traumatized by the previous contractor who did the deck. But with Alex. We felt so much better. I will definitely recommend him with a big A+."

"The quality of work was fine, the way they handle it was not fine. They set me up for three days at Thursday, Friday and Saturday. They come in and work at Thursday and Friday night. They told me that they had a big job that they have and that they would not be back on Saturday. They delayed coming back to the following day. In order for them to do their job, I had to move all the furniture in my house away from the baseboards and way from the wall so I have rooms after rooms after rooms of furniture. Then when I talk to him, I was trying to delay a day because I had something I had to do and instead of delaying the day, they delayed it until the following Monday which was this last month. I'm just now getting to where i can put my curtains back up and everything else but the problem was they came when I was not here on Monday. They insisted on the $1500. They said they wanted an extra hundred because they moved furniture and I had agreed to the hundred if they moved furniture which they did not. When my wife pay and told them that she is not going to send a positive review, they said "I don't care"."

Removing shutters before painting offers several advantages, including easier access to all surfaces and hardware. This approach allows for more thorough preparation and eliminates the risk of paint getting on surrounding surfaces. However, removal adds time to the project and presents challenges with second-story shutters. If safety concerns or hardware issues make removal difficult, on-site painting with proper masking and drop cloths is a viable alternative.
Painting shutters is significantly more economical than replacement when the underlying structure remains sound. With replacement costs ranging from $45 to $420 per shutter plus installation, repainting at $4 to $33 per shutter represents substantial savings. However, if shutters show significant structural damage, warping, or deterioration, replacement might prove more cost-effective long-term. The decision should balance current condition, desired appearance, and budget considerations.
