"Although I hope I don't need a new roof anytime soon, I would not hesitate to hire Scott Allen Roofing again in the future. The owner was very responsive, came out and gave me a quote within 24 hours, and even offered to patch up my roof for free until the new one could be installed. Additionally, he kept in touch throughout the project's timeline and was happy to answer any questions I had about the process. The office staff was also quick to respond and happy to assist with whatever questions or concerns I had. The crew was also professional during the install and left the jobsite clean and orderly. It took a little longer than expected to have the roof installed, but it was worth the wait. The finished product is pure perfection. "Not only were the Shivers kind and knowledgeable, they were FAST! I needed work done on my roof to renew my insurance premium and was on a time crunch. My call was responded to immediately, Mr. Shiver came out the next day to inspect the project, gave me a great quote and had his team member come out two days later. "Everyone at Solar Shield was very nice and professional. We had a few concerns when the moisture barrier was installed and we still had rain in our bedroom. Frank got it corrected the next day, and finished the roof the following week. The good news: very nice looking roof with no more leaks. The bad news: we got pictures of the hurricane straps installed and had the roof inspected by our insurance company. They found that the hurricane straps installed were not up to their standards and neither was the moisture barrier. They also found multiple slats (we didn’t have decking that covered the whole roof - old house) that were split and compromised during the work, so we were unable to qualify for any insurance discounts. Overall, we have a nice looking roof - top of the line from Solar Shield Industries. Hopefully, it will last a lifetime. But unfortunately, we have some decking remediation that needs to be done and we still need hurricane straps, which will probably be clips now. Not a big enough deal for me to raise a stink. I can retro clips and repair the few decking issues from the attic & under siding. And apparently, the moisture barrier is just not what the insurance company accepts as a “moisture barrier.”"
