"This is the best roofing company in existence. We searched and searched for an honest up front roofing company and Copper Roofing was the only one. Their quote contains how much per foot they charge for dry rot repair. They were the only roofing company that emailed us our quote in a day. The others took over a month. Our son live next to us and he too need a roof so we decided to do them at the same time. When we asked if there could be a discount for doing both roofs at the same time Copper Roofing was the only one who gave us a discount for doing both roofs together. We also need new gutters on both houses and these were done beautifully. The crew who did both our roofs were polite, clean and respectful of all our property. The crew also cleaned up every scrap. When we decided it was time to do some upgrading to our home, we started the task of seeking out quotes for doing our roof first. While shopping roofers and gathering quotes I came across Tony Guzman of Dream Home Remodeling Inc. After sitting and talking with Tony my Husband and myself felt that he and his company would be our choice. I cannot say enough about the great job they did. They arrived on time, there was a foreman present the entire job who was very knowledgeable about roofing, the shingles I choose and was able to address and answer any of my concerns, all the guys were polite and left my home after completing the job spotless with a beautiful new roof. We went with them based on the work they proposed and their positive online reviews, and we are completely satisfied with their work. They worked over three days to pour concrete footings, jack up the floors as best as possible, and then add permanent supports. They also removed an old vapor barrier and installed a new one. Each day, they arrived early and worked through the day. They communicated well and were courteous and professional. Prior to their work, our floors were not even close to level. "The representative viewed the spot on the ceiling to determine the approximate location of the leak on the exterior roof. Using his ladder, he walked the roof area briefly, came down and explained that the roof was showing significant signs of wear indicating the roof was probably beyond it life-cycle (20 years). Having owned the house for the past 20 years, I knew the roof was now approximately 22 years old. He indicated water appeared to be getting under the shingles in the valley on the roof. He pointed to signs of and quot;cuppingand quot; of the shingles as signs of end-of-life of the shingles.
I was quoted a price for repair of the roof. They would remove a section of the shingles and install new shingles where it was believed to be leaking. He also gave me a guesstimate on replacement of the roof on the main house (less the connecting carport that had been added within the last 10 years) with architectural shingles that have a 30 year warranty. I received a written estimate for the repairs. He pointed out that due to the age of the roof, if I chose to repair the leak area only, I could be faced with another leak and replacement.
I was underwhelmed with the professionalism of the quote. He did not measure anything and pointing to areas on the roof did not reassure me of the condition of the roof. His experience likely contributed to his confidence in his quote but it did not convince me.
I got a second estimate from another company who honestly stated they could repair just the apparent leak in the roof valley but they could not warranty such repairs. The competitor took pictures of the roof and was able to show me actually broken shingles and damage. The competitor's price quote was for the same 30 years shingles to replace the entire roof including the carport and was over $1,000 less. I got more for less.
