"Mr. Jimmy was punctual when he came to give us an estimate and when he came to do the job. I was at a point where I was getting ready to rip up the carpet and put hard wood down due to the lumps in the carpet. But after the project of having it re stretched it was like new. Needless to say we were very happy and pleased. Everything he stated he would do was done to our satisfaction. We are happy campers now. He is definitely a pro and professional pricing was very reasonable and a big plus is he guarantees his work. I would definitely not hesitate to use him again for any other project or recommending him."

"Michael showed up on a days notice, on the weekend and did an excellent job when I needed carpet removed from a hardwood floor that had been covered for 55 years. He was straight up, right-priced and gave good advice, and he is a gentleman too."

"The guys ran into a snag because of limitation of a service @ hardware store. They came up with a solution that worked as well if not better than original plan. I would recommend them for any task."

"My carpet looked brand new! I had dropped toner on the carpet quite a while ago and it made some nice looking spots that no matter what I did they stayed put. With a little extra effort they were able to get rid of those stains and the carpet looked great. I refer them to all my clients."

"Don & Chris we great! They had excellent selection of carpeting and pads. They explained the differences in products & pricing very well. They were kind, courteous, relaxed. They were never pushy in their sales tactics. They were very patient with us as we were making our decisions. They stayed on schedule with delivery & installation. The installers were on time and were very courteous. They worked quickly & efficiently and were gentle with the furniture they had to move for installation. We would definitely hire Your Flooring again for our next project."

"Our family has used Alex for carpet, backsplash in the kitchen and hardwood floor throughout our house. Him and his team were very considerate when it came to prepping the areas they’d be working in. Everything looks great and they worked very hard and got the jobs done in timely manners. They did a good job protecting our kitchen counters and floors from the tile backsplash demo. They also did a really good job cleaning up everything when they were done. Reasonably priced for great work."

FAQs for carpet repair, refasten, or stretch projects in Arlington, TN

Removing a rug costs around $0.40 to $0.50 per square foot. This includes the fee for a contractor to roll up the rug and haul it away in a vehicle for disposal or recycling. If they need to move furniture, they might charge an additional $0.25 to $0.30 per square foot of furniture.

If your carpet has minor damage—like a single area that requires stretching, patching, or cleaning—it might be less expensive to pay for carpet repair than remove and replace it. Repairing carpet costs around $210 per project.

The cost of carpet cleaning is about $190 for a three-bedroom home, so it’s a good idea to have your carpet cleaned at least once a year. But most carpeting only lasts 10 years. If your carpet is nearing the end of its life span, it might be more cost-effective to remove and replace your carpet than to clean and repair it. The average cost to install a new carpet is about $1,800.

Search our directory of carpet removal companies and services to find an affordable, screened contractor near you. All HomeAdvisor listings are vetted, reviewed, and rated by homeowners, so you can be sure to find a local pro qualified for your project. Get at least three quotes to compare prices and the timeline for your project.

Commercial carpet removal usually costs on the lower end of the carpet removal price range, around $1.10 per square foot or even less. Carpet installation contractors often offer discounted rates for larger projects, like commercial carpet removal and installation. Similarly, you might be able to negotiate a lower residential carpet removal cost if the carpet is pulled up throughout your entire home.

Most cities accept old carpets as bulk trash, but you may need to schedule a special pickup and prepare the carpet properly. Remove any nails or glue residue, cut the carpet into manageable pieces, and roll and secure them. Alternatively, you can take your old carpet to a local recycling center for a small fee, where it can be processed and repurposed.

Yes, you can remove carpet yourself if you're ready for a labor-intensive task. DIY carpet removal requires heavy lifting and tools like utility knives, pliers, and pry bars. The process is generally straightforward but time-consuming for stapled-down carpet. If your carpet is glued down or you're worried about damaging the subfloor, hiring a professional is best to ensure the job is done safely and efficiently.
