"I have used Mason Works on a previous project in 2017 (new stone wall and front step repair) and was very happy with their work. This project was to replace driveway including matching previous stone wall, add granite curbing to right side and complete replacement of existing asphalt. Stone wall is great, granite curbing is great but does not fully match in size or color (they explained that this is typical when ordering granite) and driveway really is just OK. They use a more course asphalt mi than you'd typically see and they explained that it lasts longer. My issues with driveway: • Driveway not evenly smooth, quite a few rougher spots • Section on side of driveway that you can see it's not evenly rolled • They said to wait 5 days to park on it and I waited 3 weeks instead but there are several tire marks already from parking on it"

"Two brick steps approximately 9 feet long, 12 inches deep needed to be repaired. All the mortar was falling apart and the bricks were falling out. Initial quote was $750. This was to remove bricks from steps, clean mortar, and reappoint bricks and mortar. Mutual decision day of job was to put blue stone steps instead which added $440 (four 5 foot blue stone treads--apparently $22 per linear foot, plus $30 "transport" fee) in materials to job- (which i thought was rather high after seeing that blue stone sold by the linear foot is roughly $15). My rational was 4 pieces of blue stone would take less labor and less time? Then I thought ok, original $750 quote plus material ($470) was $1,220. Wrong, job (for two steps mind you) was ultimately $1,600. Which, I think is a lot of money for 2 steps. Steps look very nice, however, i felt overpriced"

The rebuild was finished by Thursday and the finished stone wall is perfect! It’s a work of art and I’m very pleased! I asked Michael of MJ Masonry if they were interested in taking on 2 additional projects: replacing an old stockade fence with a new one, and replacing a cement walkway with a stone walkway. We agreed on the price of the 2 additions and all projects were completed to the original schedule within 3 weeks of the start date. Details of the projects: 1. Retaining Stone Wall is over 130 linear feet 2. Stockade Fence is approximately 88 linear feet 3. Stone Walkway is approximately 63 square feet The workers lead by Jose are consummate professionals. They went above and beyond what is required to do their job. It was the little things like cleaning up after themselves and repairing annoyance type things that is not in the contract without being asked. At the end of the entire project, my wife and I were so pleased with MJ Masonry's work, we gave them a modest bonus. The icing on the cake was when some of our neighbors coming over and telling us the day after the projects completion that the Retaining Stone Wall, the Stockade Fence, and the Stone Walkway looks beautiful."
