"Jim refinished our cabinets and installed new soft close drawers and cabinet doors. Jim and his assistan's attention to detail was amazing! all the drawers and doors were aligned perfectly! They cleaned every day before leaving. They give you great value for what you pay...especially when compared to competitor. Highly recommended!!"

"Within the past few years, many neighbors in my development (25-year old homes) had complete tear-out the old and bring in the new kitchen renovations, including a close friend whose kitchen layout is the same as mine. I learned a lot about what's involved with a complete tear-out kitchen remodel: the monetary investment and the headaches of losing the functional use of the kitchen for weeks. I also inquired about the cost of several neighbor's renovations, not including appliances, whom have the similar amount of cabinets/square footage to mine. Their high costs included minimal pullouts. They all kept the same footprint prior to the remodeling, so I couldn't understand why they didn't look into refacing. The layout of my kitchen and the interior structure of my cabinets were fine. I initially had contact with CPOS through Tony, a co-owner, who professionally answered a lot of my questions about cabinet refacing in a trade show setting. I became motivated to learn more. Tom, the other owner and business founder, came to my home. My husband and I were very impressed with him. He spent a generous amount of time answering all our questions and concerns. We were amazed at all that CPOS could do to enhance and improve our kitchen, which included many pullouts, for almost half the price of my friend's and many of my neighbor's kitchen renovations. I feel my new kitchen is every bit, if not more, beautiful. All the materials used are the highest quality. The cabinet panels are wood, I also selected dove tail drawers. The CPOS team was wonderful to work with. They gave me my DREAM kitchen!"

"We had an amazing experience working with Macaulay at Counter Edge! He is friendly, professional, detail-oriented and accommodating. Our original kitchen was in great shape, but the finishes were simply not our taste. It was very yellow and traditional, but we wanted white and modern. Macaulay swapped out our cabinet doors, and also put us in contact with a great company to change the countertops. It looks like a totally brand new kitchen! But it cost a fraction of the price. We originally intended to work with a traditional contractor who's done a lot of work for our family. When we mentioned wanting to "reface" the kitchen by changing the doors, he laughed at us and told us to "come back when we had $30,000 to spend to do a kitchen reno right." Shame on him. We refaced the whole kitchen with Macaulay's help, for less than a quarter of that price, and it looks spectacular!"

"Little problem with installation; After completion, we went away for a week.  During this time, unknown to us, when the installer pushed the refrigerator back into place, the icemaker feed crimped and started leaking water which ran into basement and ruined kitchen floor. Contractors insurance fixed everything but it was a real mess to come home to. <br /> Kitchen Magic is a firm that stands behind its work. They really do magic with a tired kitchen and very importantly, 5 years after the install, we called to mention one of the cabinets was coming undone, they showed up promptly and replaced it. They truly extend and honor a lifetime guarantee. A fine business to work with on all levels."

"I was forced to fire that contractor. I called John Mitchell, he made an appointment to come out, inspected the job, reported to work on the decided upon date and time. He arrived at 8 am promptly and worked until late afternoon. He is the expert, professional, extremely organized, neat, and cleans up after he finishes for the day. John finished the job in 2 days. It was the best money I have spent in years. HE IS WONDERFUL. HE FIXED CABINETS THAT MY CONTRACTOR HAD INSTALLED INCORRECTLY. HE ADDED FINISHING TOUCHES WITHOUT BEING ASKED BECAUSE HE KNEW WHAT TO DO, AND TAKES PRIDE IN HIS WORK. WHEN I CAME HOME FROM WORK ON DAY 2, HE HAD FINISHED AND LEFT, AND I WAS SO SURPRISED. MY KITCHEN LOOKS LIKE THE IKEA SHOWROOMS, EVEN BETTER! IF YOU HAVE IKEA CABINETS TO INSTALL, PLEASE DO NOT WASTE TIME AND MONEY LIKE I DID - GET THE BEST-JOHN MITCHELL. You can come see my kitchen any time!"

FAQs for cabinets reface projects in Aston, PA

Absolutely. Refacing returns 65% to 80% of your investment at resale, and you get an updated kitchen right now. Because you’re not paying for new boxes or demo work, the price lands well below complete replacement but still delivers a fresh, custom look that buyers—and you—notice every time you walk in.

To trim costs, start by pricing a high-quality paint or gel stain instead of full refacing—stain alone can be one-third the price of full refacing. Keep existing hinges and pulls if they’re in good shape, and shop sales for sandpaper, primer, and sealer. The sweat equity is real, but so are the savings, and a careful DIY job can still leave your cabinets looking sharp for years to come.

A professional crew needs only three to five days to reface a standard kitchen, although a larger layout or intricate door style may add one to two days. Compare that with the several weeks a full cabinet swap can drag on. In other words, you get your space back fast, often before the paint on the new doors is even fully cured.

Yes, you can replace just the cabinet doors and drawer fronts without covering the cabinet boxes. Cabinet refacing involves installing new doors and drawer fronts while applying veneers to existing cabinet boxes. If you’re satisfied with the condition of your cabinets, swapping doors and drawer fronts reduces labor and materials, saving you time and cost. Always consult a professional to confirm compatibility and ensure a seamless, high-quality finish.

Most cabinet refacing projects do not require removing countertops because professionals can access doors and drawers around existing surfaces. However, if your countertop overhang prevents full access to the cabinet boxes, contractors may need to lift the countertop to install veneers properly temporarily. Discuss this with your refacing specialist during the on-site estimate so you know exactly what the project entails.
