"They've done three roofs for me in the last two years. The house that I'm in now they did. Sterling has done this home, one of my rental homes and my sister in law's home.They had between 10-12 people working on this particular house. I think they did it all in one day. They left it very clean.They were all wearing safety harnesses. I point that out because this house is basically a three story house. Those guys were working 30 - 40 feet in the air. It's amazing a bunch of my neighbors have had other roofers out here doing their roofs and you don't see those guys wearing safety harnesses. I was here while they were doing it, I was laughing. When they took a break, they guy from the crew said I saw you watching us and I saw you laughing at some point shaking your head, what's the problem? I said the safety harnesses. He said yes sir, that's for the heights if we fall we could get seriously hurt, a company requires it. I said I'm happy to see that, I wasn't being condescended in any way shape or form. It's just it's just a requirement and I've never seen another company follow that requirement."

"I was referred to K & D Roofing by a coworker after Hurricane Matthew damaged my roof. Rob Hile, owner, came out and using high tech equipment, determined that I would need a new roof for my house and detached garage. Additional damage was also done, both upstairs and downstairs, to the ceilings in several rooms of the house. Rob’s crew removed all of my roof’s shingles and plywood and made necessary repairs to other damaged wood and the ceilings. The crew he used was very professional and hardworking, starting by 0700 and finishing each day at 1900, with a 45 minute lunch break. They were all very courteous, non-smoking, non-radio playing individuals who never took breaks. Their families even brought us a homemade breakfast on Saturday morning. Additionally, my insurance company (Allstate) contacted me and began questioning the cost of the repairs. I know NOTHING about roofing and immediately contacted Rob. He told me the game had begun, and negotiated with the insurance company for the payment with no issues. I would recommend K & D Roofing to anyone, and have recommend them to several friends since my repairs. Extremely knowledgeable, reliable, trustworthy, efficient and all around good people. "I initially called Mr. Duncan out to give me an estimate. I was not home at the time, but he was able to give me an estimate and email it to me. We were contemplating installing a skylight, but after learning from Mr. Duncan about the leaking issues with skylights we decided against it. <br /> <br /> It was several months before we were able to have the roof installed because we were waiting for our old house to sell. Once that house sold I called Mr. Duncan and asked him if they could squeeze us in over the New Year holiday while we were out of town. He told me that wouldn't be a problem, I just needed to choose my shingles, trim color, and sign some paperwork. <br /> <br /> Unfortunately, Mr. Duncan is not always the best at getting back with you. We finally got everything taken care of and were shocked on Friday, December 30th to suddenly hear BANG! BANG! BANG! (The installation was scheduled for when we were out of town since we have a toddler and infant and my husband works from home.) Evidently, Mr. Duncan forgot to tell us the materials would be delivered that Friday and that they pound nails supports into the roof so the materials can sit up where they are needed. It wasn't a huge deal, but my husband (who was on a conference call at the time) was shocked to hear the banging. <br /> <br /> When we arrived home we were happy to see our new roof was installed. Although, the next morning while lying in bed we heard BANG! BANG! BANG! above the garage. Mr. Duncan had neglected to let me know they had to wait on additional materials and had a little bit of work left to do the next day. <br /> <br /> Once everything was finally completed we received complements from the neighbors. I had asked Mr. Duncan for a wind mitigation report for applying for new homeowners insurance. It took a little longer than I would have liked for it to be delivered, and then my insurance needed photographs of the underside of the roof (from the attic) so it was a few more weeks to get that scheduled in (and Mr. Duncan was late for the meeting). <br /> <br /> I was very pleased with the work, but the communication could have been better. Of course, it might have been a little better if we were at home during the re-roofing."

"Ted (SunState owner) came to my house and we discussed what I was looking for.   He then got up on the roof, put together his information, and provided me with 2 estimates - depending on types of materials I might select.   Ted is easy going and comfortable to talk with.  His company is also a general contractor company - which I liked.   I did my due diligence and received 3 other quotes.   Ted's estimate was in the middle, but I felt most comfortable with his communications and background.  His crew arrived when he said they would, they spent 1 day removing the old roof and prepping it for the new roof, and then another day and a half to install the new roof and 2 new skylights.  They cleaned up each afternoon.   Inspector came on time and everything passed.   Ted came by a couple of days later and gave it his "once over" and was happy with the work.   I was happy with the work.   Everything went smoothly and I would definitely recommend using SunState for your roofing needs. <br />"
