"Curtis came to our rescue, and I am so happy with his quality of work and ethics! We pulled up a back door threshold to find out why it has been wonky since we purchased our home a year ago. We thought it maybe needed a solid brace underneath, or just a simple fix. We were devastated to learn that the floor was gone, the door frame was gone, the sill plate, outside wall, and the joist all had water damage. The insulation was sitting in 2 inches of standing water. Apparently, the door wasn't sealed properly and had water seeping in for years. Insurance considered it a maintenance issue and wasn't covered. Like I said, we were devastated and overwhelmed. We had several quotes from places in the area. The quotes varied from ripping out flooring, walls, joists, siding, deck etc. to basic patch jobs, all costing thousands of dollars and weeks worth of work. We even had some no shows. None of them left us with any hope, any confidence, or hope of money still left in the bank. None of them. Even if we had the money, none of them seem interested in helping us with our situation. Then Curtis came along. He came right way, and came exactly on time. My husband showed him the project, and Curtis listened patiently, evaluated, and was eager to help. He immediately had a plan on how to remedy the situation within our budget. He was genuine and very honest about what he could do, and couldn't do. He even drafted up a proposal so we had something in writing. Curtis came exactly as promised and work diligently over the next three days on the project. He kept the job site cleaned up, and nice and tidy. He continually checked in with us to make sure we were happy with the work. We have worked with handymen in the past on other projects, that left us incredibly disappointed with halfway done jobs, poor quality, or dragged projects out, and always hundreds of more then quoted. But Curtis was the exact opposite of all of that!!!! I am truly impressed with the quality of his work. He even took time to explain everything along the way. I am so happy with the results! No floors, walls, decks or anything ripped up. It is now super solid, and incredibly secure. He even took extra care to make sure it was all sealed up correctly so we wouldn't have this issue again. Underneath, he removed everything damaged, dried everything, replaced framing and insulation. He framed a new opening, installed a new door, and even trimmed it out. He even did more than what he originally promised and didn't increase our price on us. Our worries have been resolved and our new door looks amazing!!!! I am so thankful that Home Advisor connected us with Curtis. What a truly amazing man! I will go to Curtis for all our future needs. We finally found someone we can trust and does an amazing work! I already have another 5 jobs lined up for him when he is ready!"

FAQs for handyman service projects in Atomic-city, ID

Winterizing shields your home’s structure and key systems from snow, ice, and freezing temperatures. By sealing drafts and tuning up heaters, you cut energy waste, extend the life of appliances and windows, and avoid surprise repair bills. A small up-front investment keeps rooms cozy and protects the value of your biggest asset all winter long.

Yes, it’s important to prepare your sprinkler system for the winter. Blowing out the lines and insulating above-ground parts keeps valves and pipes from splitting when temperatures drop. A quick winterization visit costs far less than repairing burst components in spring, and it ensures your lawn--and your wallet--stay in good shape once the thaw hits.

A full home winterization plan goes beyond sealing windows and pipes. You might schedule a home energy audit, cover outdoor furniture, service the snowblower, swap smoke-detector batteries, add outlet gaskets, and hang storm doors. Each step beefs up your home’s protection, cuts drafts, and lowers the chance of costly cold-weather damage.
