"The most hard working young men Iâ ve ever had work. Did a drainage job that consisted of digging out the old system and installing larger pipes and new drains and a French, cleaned up afterwards . I highly recommend this young company."

"The guys cleared a large tract of land for me opening up roads and green fields on some hunting property. They were very responsive and did great work. Property was night and day different when they were done. Before I could barely get a vehicle around the property. Now I can get my truck down the roads with room to spare. Very happy overall with work done."

"Communication was excellent. The final price, which was very reasonable and matched the estimate. <br /> Joel came out to give an estimate and showed up exactly on time. He didn't try to sell us anything more than what we wanted removed. He contacted us quickly with an estimate that both my husband and I were very surprised to hear....almost thought there must be a catch involved or that the actual bill would be higher than the estimate. <br /> Joel showed up on the agreed day and first thing in the morning with a full crew, at least 8 men, a huge truck with a lift, and a separate tractor for hauling away.   We had 3 huge trees which were far too close to the house removed plus several smaller ones and countless large branches cut back away from the roof and decking.  <br /> Joel and his crew were right on time and very polite. Cleanup job was superb. Other than the missing trees and limbs, you would never know they were here. <br /> I'm so pleased, that we will be calling him back when the budget allows to tackle the remaining giants which are too near the driveway.  <br /> We would highly recommend Matthew and Jody's for any work needed and certain you won't find a more professional job at any price!!! <br /> Thank you Joel for the super job! <br />"

FAQs for excavation major grading or resloping projects in Auburn, AL

You can excavate in winter, but frozen soil slows down the process and increases labor costs. Many grading companies offer discounted rates during their off-season, so ask for a winter quote and weigh the savings against a longer timeline. A brief conversation with a local professional will help determine whether cold-weather excavation is suitable for your site.

Foundation digs can be completed in as little as three days or take up to three weeks. Soil density, access, weather, and hidden obstacles all play a role, so every timeline is a bit different. Have your contractor walk the site and flag any potential issues early—clear expectations help keep both the schedule and budget on track.

You must always call 811 before excavating. Dial 811 a few days in advance so that utility crews can mark underground lines and ensure the area is safe for digging. Hitting a buried cable or gas pipe can be both dangerous and expensive, and many municipalities will not issue permits unless the site is flagged correctly.

To remove soil during an excavation project, your crew will load the spoil into dump trucks with a backhoe or excavator, haul it to a disposal site, and return for the next load. Efficient hauling keeps the work zone clear and the project moving. Depending on the site and volume of osil, multiple trucks may rotate to maintain a steady flow.
