Small jobs welcome

"We hired Jason Excavating to remove a LARGE quantity of trees, to finish demolishing a garage that had collapsed, to clean up a bunch of shrubs and old debris, to grade our driveways, and to put down a lot of stone. He also did a lot of grading work on our property. Jason went above and beyond for us! He made suggestions that we hadn't considered, and he worked hard from dawn to dusk. He even took out trees that we decided to remove last minute. His pricing was also very fair. Jason is friendly, easy to work with, and does awesome work! He took out trees and stumps that were tight up against our house without touching the house. Our neighbors were also impressed with Jason's work and his work ethic. We HIGHLY recommend Jason Excavating and will be hiring him again for additional work on our property. Unfortunately, we can't post pictures of before and after because it's been raining ever since he finished."

"Troy was quick to respond to our service request for a 12x22 shed pad. We found him to be extremely accommodating to our checklist, professional, and budget friendly. We were able to schedule in the project fast and the work was finished in a timely manner. Working with him was easy. He communicated with us throughout the process and left our yard clean. We highly recommend TWC Excavation & Outdoor Services and will contact him first for any future projects. Thank you, Troy! The shed pad makes our new shed look polished."

"Jeff came and formed out the area for my garage. I had a different excavator prep the area. But I understand Jeff now had the equipment to do the job from start to finish. Then on a Saturday, he and his helpers were there to pour and finish the floor. They had the truck empty, and we refinishing in no time. Next day they removed the forms. A week later I was building. This year I m going to use them again for some side walk and patio work. I am looking forward to working with them again. Highly recommend their services"

FAQs for excavation major grading or resloping projects in Harrisburg, PA

You can excavate in winter, but frozen soil slows down the process and increases labor costs. Many grading companies offer discounted rates during their off-season, so ask for a winter quote and weigh the savings against a longer timeline. A brief conversation with a local professional will help determine whether cold-weather excavation is suitable for your site.

Foundation digs can be completed in as little as three days or take up to three weeks. Soil density, access, weather, and hidden obstacles all play a role, so every timeline is a bit different. Have your contractor walk the site and flag any potential issues early—clear expectations help keep both the schedule and budget on track.

You must always call 811 before excavating. Dial 811 a few days in advance so that utility crews can mark underground lines and ensure the area is safe for digging. Hitting a buried cable or gas pipe can be both dangerous and expensive, and many municipalities will not issue permits unless the site is flagged correctly.

To remove soil during an excavation project, your crew will load the spoil into dump trucks with a backhoe or excavator, haul it to a disposal site, and return for the next load. Efficient hauling keeps the work zone clear and the project moving. Depending on the site and volume of osil, multiple trucks may rotate to maintain a steady flow.
