"C2G was excellent during the entire process. they had a quote to my in less than 24 hours and promptly answered my questions when I called them. Once I selected them they were able to schedule the job just a few days out and I could not have been more satisfied with the outcome. The two workers who did the job were knowledgeable and respectful. In over 20 years of home ownership I would have to say this was the best experience I ever had with a home contractor."

"I hired Edgar primarily to install and repair my fence. It was a big job. He completed it in 2 days and left the yard perfectly clean. I then hired him to do a spring clean up. They did an awesome job including mulch. He was very honest about what could be done to grow grass. He didn't want me to spend money on something that wouldn't work. Fair price, excellent job! I will hire him many more times over the summer."

"I hired this company to perform some necessary repair work on the walls of our warehouse. We had the existing corroded pointing grinded out and new pointing installed along the whole exterior of the building. We then done the same on the inside of the building where there was exposed brick and also added a smooth stucco finish. Everything has been great, we are very happy with the results and would not hesitate to hire this company again for any other maintenance our commercial building may require. Thanks again guys!"

"WS Builders were great to work with. We had a lot of renovations and repair work done by WS Builders. Some of the work was major renovations and other work was smaller jobs. They provided quality work on all projects, big and small. They were honest and very professional and their prices were reasonable. They stayed within budget, were timely, and stand behind their work. We would highly recommend them."

"Will and his team were amazing! He made sure everything was done according to my liking and plans! He is a perfectionist and will make sure the job is done correctly. I have hired him numerous times to work on different projects. My retaining wall, my patio, my driveway, my lawn and other areas. Even the neighbors in my area loved his work and started hiring him for his expertise. You’ll absolutely love everything that Will works on. Great prices, professional quality and expert service!"

"J. came and gave me a fair estimate. He did come back when there was no rain in the forecast and did a nice job filling in my cracks and sealcoating my driveway. I would recommend them. Other vendors I called did not even call me back or show up for an estimate."

"Stephen answered the phone directly when I called to make an appointment.  He said that he was available to come out that afternoon, if this was convenient..  I agreed, since we were home anyway because of power outages at work.  Stephen arrived as anticipated and spent a few minutes looking at the shed and its contents.  I also showed him an old exercize bicycle in the garage that I wanted removed.  He stated that he would e-mail me an exact estimate within a day or two, but anticipated the cost to be in the range of $800-$900.  I was somewhat taken aback by the amount since I had been quoted several hundred dollars less than this by the company I was planning to buy a new shed from.  I indicated to him that I would probably use this other company.  He said that he could take the exercize bicycle when he left, and proceeded to carry it out the garage and lift it into his truck.  He refused to accept payment or a even a tip for this.  The bike had been taking up badly needed space in our garage  for years, and for us it was extremely heavy (he hoisted it up with seemingly minimal effort...).  It may have been a small thing for him to do, but I was really appreciative.    If I need to hire anyone to haul away items in the future I plan on calling  Stephen."

"It was perfect. The steps looked great, and their price was lower than other estimates we'd gotten. They were punctual and professional, and they cleaned up everything."

FAQs for excavation major grading or resloping projects in Boston, MA

You can excavate in winter, but frozen soil slows down the process and increases labor costs. Many grading companies offer discounted rates during their off-season, so ask for a winter quote and weigh the savings against a longer timeline. A brief conversation with a local professional will help determine whether cold-weather excavation is suitable for your site.

Foundation digs can be completed in as little as three days or take up to three weeks. Soil density, access, weather, and hidden obstacles all play a role, so every timeline is a bit different. Have your contractor walk the site and flag any potential issues early—clear expectations help keep both the schedule and budget on track.

You must always call 811 before excavating. Dial 811 a few days in advance so that utility crews can mark underground lines and ensure the area is safe for digging. Hitting a buried cable or gas pipe can be both dangerous and expensive, and many municipalities will not issue permits unless the site is flagged correctly.

To remove soil during an excavation project, your crew will load the spoil into dump trucks with a backhoe or excavator, haul it to a disposal site, and return for the next load. Efficient hauling keeps the work zone clear and the project moving. Depending on the site and volume of osil, multiple trucks may rotate to maintain a steady flow.
