However, the quality of the installation and the installer's lack of attention to details such as overall plumb of the posts, aesthetics, and protection of existing landscaping was not up to par. The owner did offer to make it right and sent the installer back out to correct the most glaring problems, although there was no call first to let us know they were coming. <br /> Price was higher than other quotes, but the time frame I needed was not possible with other contractors. I appreciated their willingness to schedule the work when I had to have it done. I did not get a call from the owner to ask if the repairs completed on the callback were acceptable. I felt that the work done was probably the best they were capable of doing. <br />"

He removed a large wrap around second story deck on a mountain home and put up a new cedar one, which included custom railings, stairs and application of the stain. In that same home, he laid flooring in 2 bedrooms and a bathroom. Both the deck and flooring are still in great shape, years later. Recently, he assisted in re-landscaping our new yard. He laid down barrier around existing plants and then moved 24 tons of river rock to put down over the barrier. He also took down a barbed wire fence & posts and replaced it with a new 252' vinyl fence and gate. This installation required that post holes be dug, concrete poured and posts installed in 8' sections. His measurements were completely accurate. We were very pleased with how the project turned out. Ike is reliable, on time and committed to his projects. I highly recommend him for home repairs, projects and remodels. His prices are very fair."

"<p>NorthWoods Handyman has been an excellent partner for a number of repairs we're making to our farm house. Ron, the owner, came out to our house at our scheduled time to do an initial estimate of the repairs. He explained how he worked, who he'd bring out with him and what we could expect. My respect for him rose right away when he told us straight out that there was one type of repair he didn't do (carpet patching). I'd rather have someone tell me that up front than try to do it and make a mess of it!<br /> Ron and his team did everything they said they were going to do and more. Along the way, they made good recommendations to make things even better (adding baseboards to the flooring, for example). They were patient when I changed my mind on the shower surround I wanted, and returned the old one to Home Depot without complaint. They even helped us move furniture around to make room for the flooring installation. Ron picked up all the materials we needed, credited back any extra items, and provided receipts for everything without my having to ask for them. <br /> The repairs they have made look great. And the new flooring they installed in the basement is fantastic! Everyone who has seen it has commented about how great it looks. They've also been very respectful of our house and our time, letting us know when they are arriving or leaving, cleaning up after themselves, and just generally taking care of things. There was no mess left behind when they were done. <br /> We will definitely be using NorthWoods Handyman again. In fact, we have already asked him to estimate four more projects for us, and are looking forwards to getting those completed. </p> UPDATE: We contracted NorthWoods Handyman again to complete some more minor projects, including one really icky one (pulling down old insulation out of a farm shed). They arrived on time and got everything done in two days! The work was excellent, and we're very pleased. I've upgraded their punctuality score to an A. <br />"
