"Glad to be done with cleaning gutters out. Have several trees and was forced to use the 'basket covers' on downspouts to keep leaves and whirlybirds out of the downspouts that drain underground."

"FANTASTIC! There is a reason this company has an A rating: They are professional, considerate, had excellent craftsmanship, and awesome follow through. Chris Buckley was our Project Manager and did an excellent job. We'd had other gutter installers over the last several years who needed their work fixed by Brian Pierce Roofing, and the installation of our new gutters looks phenomenal. Chris had great suggestions on the new gutter runs, the choices of colors were perfect, and his crew considerate of our property. Would ABSOLUTELY call them again, and would refer them to everyone. They'll be our first call for any future roofing, gutter, exterior painting, etc . . . .needs. MANY thanks!"

"As part of a hail damage claim the insurance adjuster identified that 90 LF of gutter and downspout needed to be replaced on the north and west side of our house. Chuck came out and gave an estimate and provided color samples so we could match the gutter color with the trim color our fascias were going to be painted as another part of our claim. Our house was built in 1987 and at that time 4" gutter was standard -- current day standard is 5".  We decided to replace the remaining east side gutter span to match the rest. I also learned that insurance adjusters tend to underestimate the LF of gutter needed because downspouts are often not included. <br /> The job was scheduled for after the painters removed the gutters and painted the fascia boards. When the gutters were removed it was obvious that no paint or primer was applied to the fascia boards when the house was originally built. <br /> The day after the painters finished painting the trim on our house, Intrawest was scheduled to come out and do the gutters and downspouts. Because of other jobs running long they weren't able to make it. Got a call from Michelle from their office advising me of this and giving a tentative reschedule date. The reschedule date came and went without any work or call from Intrawest. Michelle called the next day and apologized for not calling and said they would be out that day before noon. <br /> The 3 man crew arrived a little after 11. The lead member of the crew assessed the pile of removed gutter and told me that they would be reusing the downspouts (painted the old, very contrasting trim color). I told him that the insurance adjuster estimate stated that gutters and downspouts were to be removed and replaced. He showed me his work order which showed only one of the four downspouts being replaced. After he called the office he told me he would put up the three old downspouts that day because of approaching weather and they could be easily replaced later. To resolve the color problem the painter came out the next day and painted the three mismatched downspouts the new trim color. <br /> Overall I am satisfied with the work that was done but a little dismayed that putting up three contrasting downspouts was considered acceptable by Intrawest. I would have possibly paid for three new ones in the color of the gutter had the option been offered. <br />"

FAQs for gutters & downspouts cleaning service projects in Avondale, CO

You’ll want to clean gutters once or twice a year—in early spring and again in fall—to keep water flowing and avoid pricey leaks. Homes tucked beneath tall trees or hit with heavy debris may need two to four visits instead. Staying on schedule protects your roof, siding, and foundation from costly water damage.

Even with gutter guards, plan on an occasional cleaning—just not as often as homes without guards. Installing gutter guards blocks leaves, but grit and shingle granules still slip through and pile up over time. A quick sweep keeps water moving and stops overflow that can damage your roof or foundation.

Watch for overflowing water, slow or silent downspouts, sagging sections, or debris peeking over the gutter edge. You might also spot water stains, weeds, or an increasing number of ants in certain areas. Any of these red flags means it’s time to call a gutter cleaning pro for service before minor clogs turn into major leaks.

Skip cleanings for too long and gutters overflow, sending water under shingles, down siding, and toward the foundation. The result can be mold, rotted fascia, basement leaks, and repair bills that dwarf the price of a quick cleaning. It can also mean that future cleanings will be more expensive as it will take pros longer to deep clean gutters that are full of heavy debris. Staying on schedule saves money and headaches.

Plan on gutter cleaning service to take an average of one hour for an average single-story home and two to three hours for taller houses. Add extra time if gutter guards need to come off or clogs are packed in. Pros work methodically, clearing every linear foot so water can flow freely again.
