"Our experience was incredible from begin to end. We are not the easiest clients to work with. A lot has to go into a big project like this. We had to have an entire kitchen & cabinets repainted. In addition, custom doors for all bottom cabinets had to be made. In addition to this, we have a very complicated household with a medically complex & blind son. This company did everything in their power to make this job as easy on us as they possibly could in our family. The employees are incredible!! Very prompt, meticulous to detail and extremely hardworking. We were extremely impressed with the quality of work. Any questions we had, they were available to answer. Would hire this company again in a heartbeat! "

"I recently hired Adam Custom Interior Designs and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. Communication was inconsistent from the beginning, and I often had to follow up multiple times just to get updates on my project. Timelines that were discussed were not met, and there was little proactive explanation about the delays. The quality of the finished work did not meet my expectations, especially considering the price. Some details appeared rushed, and I felt my concerns were dismissed rather than addressed professionally. Customer service goes a long way in this industry, and I did not feel valued as a client. Overall, I would not recommend this company based on my experience. I expected professionalism, transparency, and quality craftsmanship, and sadly, I did not receive that. "

"The work was excellent, however after the installation I discovered that I had been given very cheap product for the price I was ask to pay. I had solid and steady glass doors on the shower doors they remove. They replaced them with very cheap glass that bent like Plexiglass, I've never seen glass bend and also hung like curtains from the top only, no support on the bottom. When I told them I found the doors to be unacceptable for a senior I was told they would remove them, seal the holes and I could hang showers curtain but still pay for the shower doors they will remove. I was expecting an upgrade, instead I was given hanging glass doors for an outrageous amount. The shower makeover I ordered the salesman called it my dream shower, instead it has become a nightmare for me, I have not used this shower as I'm very afraid of using it as I may accidentally bump against the door and fall through it."

"I am a general contractor and we use ProStone countertops for almost every remodel project we do. The quality of their granite and quartz is very good and the service we experience is exceptional. I've compared their pricing to Lowes and Home Depot - ProStone is significatly lower. Over dozens of kitchen and bath remodels our clients are thrilled. I highly recommend Dave at ProStone for all of your countertop needs."

"Perfect Coats was the PERFECT company to go with! Their price was competitive and the results were beyond my expectations! I knew when they were coming or if they were delayed. They power washed, they repaired (even declined an area that I thought was rotten but wasn't), they painted, they cleaned up, the crew chief took me on a tour to make sure everything was perfect - it was!"

"We’re sharing our experience (photo batch 1/3) to inform future customers about the craftsmanship of KJ Natural Stone. We hired them through our contractor for a kitchen countertop and sink. Before pickup, I personally visited their location, where they showed me the slab they would be using, along with the sink. Unfortunately, the final product did not meet our expectations. Rather than making any claims, we are simply sharing photos of their work and letting them speak for themselves. Be aware that KJ Natural Stone may claim they had no direct business with us since they worked through our contractor. However, that does not change the fact that they were responsible for fabricating and supplying our kitchen countertop and sink. We hope this review helps others make an informed decision."

FAQs for cabinets reface projects in Bahama, NC

Absolutely. Refacing returns 65% to 80% of your investment at resale, and you get an updated kitchen right now. Because you’re not paying for new boxes or demo work, the price lands well below complete replacement but still delivers a fresh, custom look that buyers—and you—notice every time you walk in.

To trim costs, start by pricing a high-quality paint or gel stain instead of full refacing—stain alone can be one-third the price of full refacing. Keep existing hinges and pulls if they’re in good shape, and shop sales for sandpaper, primer, and sealer. The sweat equity is real, but so are the savings, and a careful DIY job can still leave your cabinets looking sharp for years to come.

A professional crew needs only three to five days to reface a standard kitchen, although a larger layout or intricate door style may add one to two days. Compare that with the several weeks a full cabinet swap can drag on. In other words, you get your space back fast, often before the paint on the new doors is even fully cured.

Yes, you can replace just the cabinet doors and drawer fronts without covering the cabinet boxes. Cabinet refacing involves installing new doors and drawer fronts while applying veneers to existing cabinet boxes. If you’re satisfied with the condition of your cabinets, swapping doors and drawer fronts reduces labor and materials, saving you time and cost. Always consult a professional to confirm compatibility and ensure a seamless, high-quality finish.

Most cabinet refacing projects do not require removing countertops because professionals can access doors and drawers around existing surfaces. However, if your countertop overhang prevents full access to the cabinet boxes, contractors may need to lift the countertop to install veneers properly temporarily. Discuss this with your refacing specialist during the on-site estimate so you know exactly what the project entails.
