"We are having our HVAC replaced and our salesperson recommended DUCTZ. DUCTZ came out on-time today to clean our air vents. The communication prior to the visit was very clear and it was easy to understand the upcoming process. They were very considerate, we toured our home and they went right to work bringing in the needed equipment and moving necessary furniture to access the vent covers. They were diligent and stayed focused on the task. Before I knew it, they were reattaching the cleaned vent covers and removing the equipment. Within a few hours, we had before/after pictures and have a great sense of comfort knowing all the gunk is gone! I highly recommend DUCTZ!"

"I wish everyone did business like these guys. The whole process was 100% online, from requesting the quote to paying for the service. They even did the house wash when I wasn’t home, so no need to take off work or schedule a time “window”. I’ve previously hired these guys to pressure wash my driveway and they did an excellent job on that, too. Definitely recommend and I will be a repeat customer for sure."

"Price was reasonable, installation was fast and efficient, workers were courteous. We were very happy with the results. A few months later in the beginning of March the unit stopped heating. I called early in the morning intending to leave a message and was surprised when a person answered the phone. Within 2 hours that same day, a technician was onsite diagnosing the problem. He had it narrowed down to 1 of 3 parts, but wasn't sure which it was, so he just replaced all three. We had heat again that same day. I can't tell you how impressed I am with Allied-Phillips. I would use them again and highly recommend them whenever the subject comes up."

"Got a groupon for $69 for whole house unlimited air duct cleaning. Was told when I made the appointment that the groupon that additional main would cost between $100-189 addition per main as some homes have more than 1 main. I made a appointment for 8/21 but they called a few days prior to cancel and had the appointment rescheduled to today, 10/2. The guys arrived on time in the provided window. I was told my home had 3 mains and the groupon only covered 1. Each additional main was $189 (suprisingly it went to the higher amount I was told) for additional $378 ontop of my $69 groupon. I told them to just do the work for the groupon for the one main but they advised they could not cause when they "hook up" their system it would clean everything. They offered a "deal" for $329 and promised to refund my $69 groupon. I regret it but I took the $329 "deal." I honestly don't know if they cleaned anything because it entailed the guys blowing compressed air into my air vents and hooking up a vacuum hose into my basement return air supply vent. I was told the vacuum hose was used to create negative pressure to collect the dust/debri. It was a very quiet vacuum, didnt seem like it was ever on. I even went outside to their van where it was but didn't hear anything besides the air compressor. The vacuum hose was filled with some many holes I highly doubt there was a "negative pressure." I saw guy was trying patching up the vacuum hose with tape. My expecatations from previous duct cleanings was that someone would use air and agiator to break/loosen up dirt/dust but it was never used. The guys had a agiator on them never once saw them use it or heard it as it would bang against the duct work if they were. Additionally in the past duct cleanings, to create negative pressure they would seal air and return vents but none were done. I have a 4000 sq. feet home and it was done in less than an hour and they were just hanging outside of my home. Doesn't seem like any cleaning was done and there is no difference in the duct work."

"So first off, a snafu with Angie's list, and the price listed on the site was not what the company said it was supposed to be. It still was reasonable enough so I asked the gentleman to come by and do the work. Sergey was prompt, very efficient, methodical, and we could see the attention to detail he gave to his craft. Even though the initial ask was just for cleaning, Sergey showed us the videos and black spots marking mold in our system, so we had him add that work of fumigating to the same visit. Will use again when needed."

"Terrible. Scam Artist. I was supposed to just get a cleaning AFTER another company came to unclog my AC pipe. Somehow after they come to clean they turn off my heat (which was never an issue) and are telling me i have $1,000 to repair it. PLEASE BEWARE. I'm filing a complaint with the BBB and possibly the courthouse. The owner says he knows for a fact his Technicians don't lie. That speaks volumes being its a lie."

FAQs for air ducts & vents cleaning service projects in Baltimore, MD

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) states that air duct cleaning is not required unless visible issues such as mold buildup, rodent droppings, or excessive dust are present. When such conditions exist, cleaning becomes essential to protect indoor air quality and maintain HVAC efficiency. This approach minimizes potential health risks and extends the system’s life.

Air ducts must be cleaned every three to five years as required by NADCA to preserve system efficiency and indoor air quality. The EPA insists that cleaning is necessary only when significant issues such as mold, pest infestations, or heavy dust accumulation are evident. Annual inspections by a certified professional promptly address any emerging concerns.

The ideal seasons for air duct cleaning are spring and fall. Cleaning during these periods prepares your HVAC system for the demands of both winter heating and summer cooling. These seasons provide moderate weather conditions that enable efficient service completion while minimizing disruption, ensuring your system performs at its peak.

Professional air duct cleaning takes a fixed duration of two to five hours, depending on the home’s size and the complexity of the duct system. Smaller residences with standard ductwork complete the service in two hours, while larger homes with extensive ducts require up to five hours. Additional repairs may extend this duration.

To prepare for professional air duct cleaning, ensure all vents are unobstructed by moving nearby furniture and clearing pathways. Secure any pets in a safe area and confirm that your HVAC system units are easily accessible for technician inspection. Proper preparation contributes to a higher quality service outcome and prevents delays, allowing the cleaning process to proceed efficiently.
