"Jim and Rob came out to provide an estimate within 4 hours of my contacting them. They were able to cost the project and provide me an estimate on the spot. This occurred on a Saturday afternoon after a severe storm blew down part of the fence flooding the entire fence line. They provided a fair estimate considering the current inflated wood prices (not their fault) and advised me they could start the work, if contracted during on Wednesday of the next week. I signed the contract, provided their requested deposit and felt good about their estimate, repair timing, and plan of action. Like clockwork, they showed up on-time, removed the posts and fence sections, removed the concrete footings, and reset the new posts by the end of the first day. They returned 2 days later, as adjusted for rain, and completed that entire side with new gate. The work was screwed in vs. less reliable nailing... a plus in my book. They also hand selected the new dog-eared fence boards rather than just go with a pallet of wood... another plus. Throughout, they cleaned up after their selves and neatly stacked the old fence for a contractor to pickup. The pile was gone before they left. Due to the flooding of my rear yard, they removed that section of fence but could not complete the reinstallation until the following Monday. However, over the weekend, they temporarily secured enough of the old fence to not leave the backyard exposed... another plus. On Tuesday, as agreed, they returned, on time and completed the job. The job site was left without any damage or debris... All in all, these gentlemen are a family business that take price in their work, respect the home-owner's wishes, and fulfill their contracts. The property is now safely secured with a new, professionally installed fence. I'm happy and will let them redo my 30 year old deck in two months. If you are looking for pro's, look no further... these fella's are great! Rare professional ethics these days! Thanks folks!"

"When I need to replace my wooden privacy fence two years ago, Robert came out and provided a detailed plan for the removal and installation of the new fence. The project was scheduled on my timeline and the guys who did the work were very skilled and had excellent customer service. I have been pleased with the fence since that time but recently need some planks replaced and called Robert. He came out and looked at the fence and within two business days, I had someone at my house replacing the planks and per Robert, no charge. You never get this treatment from any company these days so I will commit to being their customer and continue to recommend this company (and Robert)."

"Up to and including contract negotiation and signing things went really well. Travis, an owner of the company, was polite and punctual. After the contract was signed, things went terrible. Several days before the job was scheduled to start, Travis called me and asked if he could deliver and store all the fencing materials onto my driveway. I refused because I did not want to be responsible if any of the material was damaged or stolen and in addition, did not want my garage blocked. Travis became agitated and indignant because I would not agree to his request. The wooden rails delivered to the job site were pine and not the upgraded cedar as required by the contract. I notified Travis of the discrepancy and at first he didn't believe me. He again sounded agitated but I explained to him the rails had tags attached to them which clearly identified them as pine. He finally agreed to have them exchanged. When Travis came to collect payment for the installation, I showed him some problems with the fence installation. Both gates were very poorly made and misaligned. Travis claimed the gates were fine and would not ever become a problem but within just a few weeks one the gates had tilted out at the bottom and in at the top in addition to being out of plumb. Travis met me at the property and even though it was obvious the fence post had become twisted, he would only agree to try to make the gate latch line up so it would close. Our contract called for a one year warranty of materials and labor and when I brought this up to Travis he still refused to replace the defective materials. Within the first few months, the gate became difficult to close so Travis came by and preformed a quick and dirty repair which only lasted for about a year or two. The gate has now become impossible to close and I will have to pay to have it repaired or replaced. This is just one of several problems that were immediately apparent upon completion of the job but for sake of brevity, I chose to just give this one example. Travis did not honor the warranty and was very disagreeable to work with after the contract was signed. I would never do business with him again."

"We called Hill Country Fence and Ranch at the beginning of April to ask if someone could come and give us an estimate for the work we wanted to have done. Tyler came out the very next day, a Friday, and by the beginning of the following week we had the estimate. After some thought, we decided to drop an item from the initial proposal to save a little money, got back to him, and he immediately sent a new estimate for our review. In our case, we needed to have a survey done and, once we had this taken care of, we got back in touch with Tyler to let him know we were good to go. We were then added to their schedule and were sent a link that we could use to monitor where we were in the queue. The list was continuously updated as work progressed on the many jobs ahead of us. The work on our project started on July 9 and ran for three days straight. The projected start was for a couple of weeks earlier, but that would have coincided with a trip we had out the country and we wanted to be around during the actual work in case there were any issues that arose. On Day One, a three-man crew with materials and equipment arrived punctually and got immediately to work tearing down the old split-rail and privacy fencing, loading it up for hauling off, beginning to drill the holes for the posts, and getting a start on erecting the new cedar split rail. On Day Two, the crew delivered galvanized steel posts and brackets, plus the cedar pickets for the 6' privacy fence. One crew member began work on installing the privacy fence, while the other two continued installing the split rail. All fence posts, metal and wood, were installed in concrete. On Day Three, work continued on both the privacy fence and split rail until completion. The crew worked extremely hard throughout the project in high heat and humidity and did an excellent job. Several neighbors have already commented on how beautiful the new fencing looks. We will certainly recommend Hill Country Fence and Ranch to anyone we hear of looking to have this type of work done."

"Working with JR was a simple, no nonsense and professional experience from start to finish. We wanted some kind of shade for our uncovered patio. JR came over, listened to what we were looking for, and came up with some options and a plan. JR‘s quote was right in line with, or less expensive than other quotes we had received. We ended up going with an approximately 30x12 cedar arbor. Once we settled on a day to get the arbor installed, JR and his crew came over on the scheduled day, and was on time. He and his crew were very professional and friendly, and they were very efficient. What I thought would be a multi day job was completed in one day. As for the results, the arbor is beautiful. It really does provide significant shade. It is as if we have a covered patio, but with the benefit of having air circulate more freely. We love our arbor and highly recommend JR for any arbor, deck, or other wood work job. He does excellent, professional work at a fair price."
