"Scott Macdonald is friendly, easy to work with, and offers his expertise in a flexible way that helped me sort out how to think about details of a project, in this case filling in an in-ground pool and how to then landscape afterwards. He nicely revised the cost of an already signed contract downwards when part of my pool-fill came from a retaining wall construction project happening at the same time. I pestered him with some messages more than a few times prior to the start-up of this project, which he answered quickly, helpfully, and patiently. It’s also fun to watch someone work with excavation equipment so efficiently and deftly. On the basis of his work, my neighbors and I who share a driveway hired Scott to do winter plowing for us. As folks might know, some potential downsides of that can include scraping up gravel and dumping it at the end of a driveway, or plowing when there’s not enough snow to warrant the work. Scott will come when we need it, charges fairly based on two levels of how much snow there is, and is as adept with his plow as he is with his larger equipment. I’d recommend Scott to anyone wanting a skilled, accommodating, fair-minded contractor."

"Roger has done a number of jobs for us this winter and did a great job on all of them. He redid two bathrooms, took down a damaged tree and replaced and repaired the soffit on our garage, repaired a fence and completely replaced both a balcony and our deck . He did an incredible job, doing much of the work when we were out of the country it kept me updated with photos of work as it was done each day."

FAQs for interlocking pavers for driveways & floors installation projects in Bangor, ME

Installing interlocking pavers takes between four and 10 days, depending on the project's size and complexity. The process involves careful excavation, precise leveling, and building a stable base before placing the pavers. Larger projects or challenging site conditions may require more time to ensure a durable and attractive result that stands the test of time.

It's not recommended to place pavers directly on dirt. For the best results, you'll need to lay a foundation of gravel or sand to create a leveled and compacted base. This ensures proper drainage below the pavers, preventing erosion and shifting over time. An uneven or unstable base can cause the pavers to move or settle improperly, affecting the appearance and longevity of your installation.

Installing interlocking pavers yourself involves rigorous preparation and careful execution. This DIY approach requires excavation, precise leveling, and building a proper base using gravel or sand to ensure stability. The project demands at least two to three full days of intensive manual work and the use of specialized tools. Alternatively, hire a paver installer for professional results.

Concrete stone and clay brick pavers are the top choices for homeowners. They offer robust performance and an attractive finish that elevates outdoor living areas. These materials are engineered for superior durability and design flexibility, ensuring long-term strength and style. Selecting the right paver type maximizes the overall appeal and functionality of your space while meeting all design and performance standards.
