"Another handyman backed out saying he could not do my small master bathroom remodel for two months. I found Peter on Angie’s List. Peter was very responsive to my dilemma. He came promptly with a reasonable quote. Started the next week, after a snow storm, and completed the work in two days. Although I have very limited knowledge, clearly Peter is very experienced. He tiled my bathroom, installed a new toilet, vanity, light, replaced my electrical switches, and installed an inset medicine cabinet as well as caulked etc. I’m excited to have Peter do my main bathroom in the spring (after my IRS refund). lol. I wholeheartedly, recommend Peter."

"They are super, they are from a different era. If I was going to get another appliance fixed, he's the guy I will be going to. Everybody is friendly, there is no problems. He was nice. He got intrigued with this lamp. He said it was unusual The switch was supposed to unscrew if it's done properly, it comes right out. This wouldn't unscrew. It turned out because it wasn't made properly. But he got it apart, he got in there. I was just very pleasantly surprised. He also works on power tools, that seems to be his specialty. There is a lot of construction guys in there that were picking up power tools, drills, saws, stuff like that. They all seemed to know him first name basis. He knows his stuff. He's an older guy, laid back, relaxed, get it done, craftsman kind of guy. The shop despite the fact that there was a lot of stuff there it was clean and neat and well organized. It was a good experience."

"He was prompt and professional but he wasn't sure what the problem was and wanted to charge me about $250 to fix it when he wasn't even sure that what he was going to do was really what was wrong."

FAQs for swimming pool remodeling projects in Bangor, PA

You can modernize your pool by adding features like underwater LED lighting, mosaic tiles, or a beach entry for easy access. Incorporating amenities like fire pits, waterfalls, or installing energy-efficient equipment can also give your pool a contemporary upgrade.

To make your pool more energy-efficient, consider resurfacing it with a lighter color to reduce heating needs and evaporation. Installing a variable-speed pump can significantly lower energy consumption. Switching to low-energy LED lights not only saves power but also enhances ambiance. Additionally, updating old plumbing pipes can improve efficiency and reduce water loss.

A pool remodel typically takes between four and eight weeks to complete. The exact duration depends on factors such as the size of your pool, the complexity of the renovations, and the availability of materials and contractors. Planning ahead and coordinating with a professional pool remodeler can help ensure your project stays on schedule.

Remodeling your pool can be a worthwhile investment, especially if you plan to sell your home. A pool remodel can increase your property's value and enhance its appeal to potential buyers. Upgrades like modern finishes, energy-efficient systems, and added features like lighting or fountains can transform an outdated pool into a backyard oasis.

Resurfacing a pool involves applying a new finish to the existing surface to address cosmetic issues and minor structural concerns. Replastering is a more extensive process that replaces a deeper layer of the pool's structural base, impacting both stability and appearance. After replastering, you can choose from various finishes to enhance the design and longevity of your pool.
