"After years of painting our home it was time to move up to a better solution. After searching the Better Business Bureau for local companies Krumwiede Home Pros stood out. They were top rated with 0 complaints. We were even able to initiate contact for a quote through the BBB. Michael was our salesperson and he was upfront and honest in capabilities and pricing. The pricing was so great we even upgraded to an insulated vinyl siding and we were still under what others quoted. We then met with Ross the production manager who went over every aspect of the job with us. This was great because we worked out any issues ahead of time. There were no surprises and we were all on the same page. The 2 gentlemen who came to do the work were great also. They showed up on time and worked hard everyday. They never left a mess and were easy to communicate with. We are very happy with the whole experience and our house looks awesome! Thanks Krumwiede Home Pros we are happy we met you!"

"Great. My old tub was nasty, stained the finish dull. I checked other reviews for Cream City and very positive so I purchased through Angies List. They came in and assessed the condition, noted I had a couple loose tiles which they could take care of at a very reasonable cost. The refinishing was done in one day, they came back the following day. Awesome job. Highly recommend"

"Initially things were great. The people that helped us choose the countertops, appliances, and cabinets were amazing. Friendly, professional, very nice. They did a great job taking my vision and turning it into something amazing. I give the design team an A. When they did the tile floors, which look amazing, I was incredibly pleased and excited about what the entire kitchen would look like when finished. If purchasing/design/tile were all I was rating, I would give them an A even though they are pricey.  <br> <br>But I cannot get past the rest of the installation process which is why I am giving them a lower grade. Expensive for what I got which was a lot of frustration.   <br> <br>Between the cabinet installation, the appliance installation, and the countertop installation, I just about lost my mind.  <br> <br>There was a lack of miscommunication between all of the teams. The cabinet installer would show up and work in small chunks of time. He did an acceptable job but we had to replace several drawer fronts because he didn't install the handles correctly. That created a delay because they had to order new fronts. I will say that when he found a cracked cabinet door he did call to get it replaced, but they ordered the wrong size, had to reorder.... More time wasted.  <br> <br>The measurements for the cooktop were wrong. When my appliances showed up (delivered by Nonns and that team was very nice and professional) I opened the box for the cooktop so the guy measuring the countertops could get the specs. He needed them to do a cut. When the countertop was delivered the installer realized the cuts were wrong. The installer was very upset and my husband was very frustrated as well. There was a lack of communication at some point and a mistake was made. I get that there was a misunderstanding between Nonn's teams but when that frustrates the people who have paid them over 20k, it is totally unacceptable. Somebody else had to come in and cut the countertop (quartz) after it was installed. I worked with the guy to cover as much stuff possible with plastic sheeting so it didn't get everywhere. Afterwards we cleaned up as much as possible but I still find piles of quartz dust in the cabinet that sits under it. <br> <br>When the gas cooktop was installed, they didn't seal the line to the cooktop properly. Several days later (on a Saturday) we were calling the city because of a gas leak. When I called Nonns, the person we worked with for appliances was probably as mad as me. It didn't reflect on her, but the person who installed it. They came out on Monday to fix that but the fact that it happened was terrifying.  <br> <br>It's been about 6 months since the work was done and we haven't had any problems with anything, which is great. The massive headache from this project made us purchase/install the backsplash from another company. If you choose to purchase anything from Nonns, do not use their installation services. "

"I'm happy with their work! I thought they had very good customer service; they completed the measurements very accurately. I'm very particular with how I wanted the work done, and they were happy to work with me. It fits perfectly and looks just the way I wanted it to be. I referred them to United Brick Company, who had replaced an old fireplace with a new gas fireplace, and I've learned since then that they're actually using their services."

"Sales Support was Excellent. Lauren is young but knows her cabinets. She met us at the show room and later the Parsonage and took her measurements and answered a lot of questions and worked with us on sink and faucet options. We got sink and faucets elsewhere. She came up with three designs for over the sink and met Pastor wife’s requirements. Demo work was performed Bob. Kitchen cabinets built in 1971 so it required a board by board disassembly which took more time. No boxed cabinets back then. He answered all questions and was professional and efficient in his work. You could tell he had lots of experience. Took care not to damage existing doors and walls. Bob also installed the new upper and lower cabinets. Again his depth of experience showed. He identified an issue with an electrical outlet location and worked around the issue until I could get a master electrician there to move the dishwasher outlet. He did install another cabinet and covered up another outlet but cut a hole in the cabinet so we could access the outlet. Quality of finished upper and lower cabinets was excellent. However, there was a critical error made by the factory on the small cabinet to the right of the sink which meets another cabinet forming an “L”. The drawers and doors on the small cabinet interfered with the opening of the door and drawer to the right of the cabinet. You could not open the drawers and doors on one cabinet. They should have seen this in the design and used a 1” insert between the cabinets to avoid the interference. So Bob installed an insert inside the opening for the door and drawer which reduced the width of the drawer and door. These two components had to be custom made by the factory and took 3 weeks resulting in the project not being finished on time. Therefore, they got a “C” grade for the quality of the work. Part of the design was a 7 ft tall cabinet with adjustable shelves. Factory mistake #2…the adjustable shelves were too long and would not slide by the plastic shelf clips. Rick took them back to the shop to cut them down to the correct length. The original wall of cabinets ended 2” from a door way. When the new cabinets were installed it was 7.5” from the doorway so I had to hire a skilled plaster tradesman to fix the exposed wall. Not sure who’s mistake, factory or sales person. The wall had no plaster top coat. After the new vinyl floor was installed Rick, Manager, installed the toe kick board. Everyone we came in contact with was very professional and experienced. We were on a tight timeline and they met every commitment except for the smaller doors and drawers."

"This custom cabinet company came out to our house, listened to our requirements, and developed a layout for our kitchen. <br /> The proposed layout was good but needs some further modifications.  Out of three companies their price was very good.  Have not visited their showroom yet.  He went above and beyond to get a price for Quartz counter top. <br /> This company looks good and we had a positive experience.  Will update this review if we go with them. <br />"

FAQs for cabinets refinish projects in Baraboo, WI

To find the best cabinet refinishing expert for your project, start by researching local pros and reading reviews from previous customers. Reach out to a few contractors to discuss your cabinets' size, condition, and the look you're aiming for. Don't hesitate to ask for references or examples of their past work. Speaking with previous clients can give you valuable insights into the pro's workmanship and reliability.

When speaking with potential cabinet refinishing pros, consider asking them several questions to gauge their experience and professionalism. These questions can help you gauge the pro's experience and determine if they align with your needs.

  • Do you offer a guarantee on your work?

  • Can you create custom finishes or colors?

  • Do you have examples or samples of your past projects?

  • Are you able to match the finish to other cabinets in my home?

  • How long will the project take from start to finish?

Regular care will help maintain the beauty of your cabinets for years to come. To keep your refinished cabinets looking their best, follow these steps:

  • Use gentle cleaners: Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that can damage the finish. A simple mixture of warm water and mild dish soap works well.

  • Clean carefully: Instead of spraying solutions directly onto the cabinets, apply them to a soft microfiber cloth and wipe gently.

  • Protect from heat and moisture: Try to minimize exposure to excessive heat or moisture, which can affect the finish over time.

It's usually less costly to refinish cabinets than to replace them, depending on the cabinet condition. Refinishing cabinets cost an average of $3,114 while replacing cabinets is about $5,000 or more. When deciding to refinish or replace cabinets, consider several factors, including how old your cabinets are, your budget, and whether you need to complete any other renovation projects at the same time.

It may be worth resurfacing (also known as refacing) your cabinets if they’re in good shape but you’re interested in a different look. This is often less expensive than replacing cabinets outright and can allow you to update the look of your cabinets to reflect your kitchen’s current style without having to get rid of them entirely. The cost to reface cabinets is around $4,300 to $10,000, and you can hire a local cabinet refacing pro to handle this work.

Refinishing cabinets takes about two to three days to complete. The process begins with removing cabinet doors, drawers, and hardware, followed by cleaning, stripping, and sanding the surfaces. Any chips, stains, or splits are repaired before applying paint or stain. After applying the finish, the cabinets are reassembled, and the workspace is cleaned up, leaving your cabinets refreshed and renewed.
