""A group of vinyl-siding panels warped in one concentrated area even though there was no grill, exhaust outlet, or other obvious heat source nearby. The distortion appeared during sunny afternoons and aligned with reflected light from a neighboring high-performance window. Panels outside that narrow path remained flat. The timing and shape of the damage helped separate it from ordinary installation buckling. Surface temperatures were documented during the period when the reflection crossed the wall. Replacing the affected siding with the same vinyl could have led to another failure.
