"HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Do yourself a favor and skip the ******** companies who think they can do driveways, but lack the know how, experience and ethical decency to tell you so. I went through 2 companies before I called on Clayton and his company to save my driveway. I decided to go cheap and it wound up costing me double. Mr. Sidewalk's bid was very fair, and the skill and professionalism they provided for the project was indeed a sight to behold. Don't make the mistake I made. Mr. Sidewalk is the right company for anything involving driveways, sidewalks or concrete. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED"

"Don Leavings and his team did a fantastic job on our driveway expansion project in Point Aquarius. With his experience in concrete construction he was very helpful in improving the design for the project that ultimately added value yet, was very competitive with his pricing. Once his crews started the project they completed the work expeditiously and subsequently cleaned up the site very well. I would highly recommend Leavings Concrete for any of your concrete pavement related projects."

"He was really good. He came out and told me what he thought best, and even recommended to do some overhang, but we haven't done it yet. He didn't have time then and I didn't have money then. Charles is who came to my house, more than once. He did do it and it was excellent. I was happy. The people who put it in, the people before me who bought this house, added a patio to a little back porch, just a concrete slab they added it to. They added it but they didn't connect to the foundation. When all that water came, it separated. I had holes where the grout was where animals were going in, it was so big, snakes and stuff. I have a new patio because of it. Charles did it so he connected to my current foundation to the house. The first time it was done, it wasn't like that. I have a much better patio now. It was already pretty if you didn't look at the floor. I would stumble on it because it was so raised in places. The stone was cracked. I'm happy with what I have. He did a good job. I asked him who did his website. It was old and I really didn't want them. It all had nice illustrations of things he did. He was busy. It's big and they had to take out the old stone. They had to bring in a garbage truck or something to haul off. They had to take out the old stones. I liked his suggestions, his good ideas, his crew. The workmen were great. Nice, efficient and good. It didn't take him long. He got the old one out in one day and the next day and a half probably they had the new one in and it was good."

"In August 2020, we completed a complicated replacement backyard 3-story deck project with the expert help of Architectural Fabricators. As background, we live in a 100-year old house in Montrose. The previous owner, built out the attic into a 3rd floor efficiency apartment, and constructed a 3-story deck that served as outdoor entry, fire escape, and seating area. It was done in treated pine and included a 1st story deck (12x28’), wrap-around 3-story staircase, and upper deck (10x12’). Unfortunately, after 25+ years, the wood deteriorated and the staircase became unsafe and unusable. We needed to replace the entire structure. After engineering plans were drawn and a city construction permit was secured, we started the project. The project required demolition of the existing structure, then construction of the new structure with drilled cement piers to support the four 8x8”x21’ metal columns for the 3rd story deck platform, metal I-beams for decking substructure, a 20’ metal spiral staircase, metal safety railings around all decks, and then wood decking and stair components. A consultant who we had worked with previously drew the engineering plans and secured the City of Houston permit. He was great. So, we started the project by contracting with a small deck-building company that had been recommended. With that company, we completed demolition of the old structure and got the piers drilled, pored, inspected and approved. However, our contracted deck building company could not finish the job. It did not have the capabilities to complete the remaining metal fabrication, construction and welding aspects. So, mid-project, we had to reset and find another company. We asked around, and were told to contact Architectural Fabricators because they had capabilities for completing the metal fabrication, installation, and wood-decking components. This recommendation turned out to be blessing. I contacted them through their website in January 2020 prior to the COVID-19 lockdown, and received a quick call back from David, the sales manager. We set up an in-home meeting, and he came over to review the project. He met with us for almost 2 hours while I explained the project, showed him the plans, status of the city permit, and work completed to date. He considered the project, said their company had the skills and capabilities to complete it, and that he would get back to me with a bid. Interestingly, I contacted 4 other companies for bids to help us out, and Architectural Fabricators was the only company that responded. David returned a bid that was complete and totally acceptable. In fact, he and company owner, Jason had brainstormed and suggested some very cool alterations to the plans. We immediately signed the contract and put a work schedule in play. Construction resumed in March 2020 with Architectural Fabricators, just as the COVID pandemic began to rage. However, this did not stop the work. We all practiced excellent pandemic safety precautions with masks and distance. This is a compliment to all the guys for their work ethic and safety manners. I want to give a shout out to all the workers. First acknowledgment is to crew foreman Luis and his metal workers Carlos, Ruben, Gustavo, and Julio who completed the installation of the large support columns and I-beams. They were competent, skillful, and careful with the positioning, leveling, and welding. Everything passed inspection without comment. Next is to Alejandro and his crew who built and installed the spiral staircase. Marco, one of his guys, expertly welded the staircase in placed and then installed the railings. They are all experienced welders and builders. And last but not least, kudos goes to Cesar and his crew Ramon and Ruben who installed the wood decking and metal planter box. Cesar is a master craftsman with wood. We chose IPE wood for its lasting qualities and beauty, and the guys did a great job of laying the decks. As an example of the care and pride they put into the deck, Cesar carefully custom cut rounded corners in the deck boards to fit the rounded corners of the large support columns. Everything is precise, flush, and square. The project was completed in August 2020. And it is beautiful. All city inspections of construction elements were approved and the final Certificate of Compliance was received. We could not have completed this replacement deck structure without Architectural Fabricators. Again, Jason and David were patient and accommodating during the pandemic and execution of the project. They were actively involved, cared about the project quality, practiced work site and pandemic safety measures, and didn’t ignore us. David called each week to ask how things were going and if there were any issues. He was a pleasure to work with, as was Jason. It’s nice when an owner is engaged with the work and progress. Finally, the project could not have turned out as well as it did without the dedication and masterful efforts of the crew. They were friendly, skillful, and conscientious. They showed up when scheduled. They cleaned up after each day’s work. These are the guys everybody wants to have work on their home projects. From our perspective, the investment we made in this home project with Architectural Fabricators was well worth it. Not only is this structure a showpiece, it has been built to last. We plan to enjoy the outdoors in our Montrose backyard on these lower and upper decks with family and friends for many years to come. Many thanks, Jim and Carrie Markello"

"They are fantastic. Always professional and great to work with. Gene was very sympathetic to us in regards to the substandard work that had been done by a previous contractor and really helped us out. We've used them for regular maintenance and his staff is just great. Tonia has always been reliable and she knows what she is doing. They staff did a nice job on our lawn and she was in charge of that. They're also very responsive whether the communication be via email or by phone."

"True concrete was amazing. Abel and Roberto are very knowledgeable. They took the time to make sure that they understood everything I was asking for. They also gave me three different quotes for all of our jobs. That way I can pick and choose which ones I wanted to do or bundle them. They did great work. We would hire them again in an instant. Actually we did. They did work at my adopted mother's house first and it was excellent so I had them come over here and do a bid for a driveway and extensions off of the driveway where my friends normally park. And everything looks amazing!"

"Excellent, could not have been better. Allied responded very quickly and prepared the estimate a few days later. The work was performed by a highly-skilled crew who were very courteous, competent, hard-working and respectful of my property. The concrete finish is as close to perfect as I have ever seen. The slope of the finished driveway is perfect and there are no low spots or humps. Water now runs from the garage to the street just as I wanted. Had it not been for Tropical Storm Imelda, the whole job would have been completed in 3 days. I highly recommend Allied Outdoor Solutions, they are very competent and operate in a very professional manner."

FAQs for concrete driveways & floors installation projects in Bay City, TX

Polished concrete floors offer many benefits with very few drawbacks. While issues like discoloration, stains, or imprints may occur during pouring, these are rare when working with a skilled flooring contractor. Once polished, concrete floors are easy to maintain, long-lasting, and eco-friendly. They also resist mold and moisture, making them ideal for allergy-prone households, and offer versatile design options for both indoor and outdoor use.

Polished concrete flooring is often more affordable than tile. It involves lower material costs and less labor-intensive installation. Tile installations require additional leveling and preparation, which increases labor costs. Opting for concrete flooring helps reduce upfront expenses and provides a durable, stylish finish that saves money over time with minimal maintenance.

While epoxy flooring offers enhanced durability and toughness compared to polished concrete, it comes with higher material and labor costs. If budget is a top priority, polished concrete floors provide a resilient and attractive finish without the premium price tag, making them an ideal choice for value and long-term performance.

Polished concrete floors last 20 years or more when installed by licensed professionals and maintained with proper care. Their enduring finish withstands heavy use and remains visually impressive for decades. Regular deep cleaning and maintenance help safeguard the floor’s integrity, providing homeowners with a long-lasting, cost‐effective solution that endures daily wear without compromising style.

Polished concrete floors increase home value by offering a modern, sleek appearance and exceptional durability. A professionally installed floor not only enhances visual appeal but also minimizes maintenance expenses, making the property more attractive to prospective buyers. This flooring upgrade delivers a refined look while boosting overall market competitiveness and long-term property value.
