"Jim is a great guy, very professional easy to work with but he has trouble get back with you and scheduling. Contacting him was difficult at times. It is understandable being a individually run business. He has great ideas of what plants to use. Work is professional and he makes sure you are totally happy with the job."

"Craig was thorough in the planning and design.  His crew was very particular in their installation of a 53 ft. long retaining wall.  They removed an existing 20 ft. long retaining wall and built one designed to eliminate movement of earth near foundation of home built near a canal leading to  Lake Conroe.  Craig will come back after six months for an inspection.  I recommend Curb Appeal Landscapes, LLC for your retaining wall needs.  Jim Gibson <br />"

"They were reasonably priced.  The work was good.  They put some plants in, that had oyster scale and they came back out and treated it but it didn’t go away.  So I finally had to get rid of the plants but I guess that can happen to anybody.  The quality of the work was not so good because of the oyster scale plants.  I will probably use their services again in the future."

"Called around several places to get estimates for above work. They werent the cheapest but they seemed reasonable and I liked his website/ideology regarding over pruning and lion's tailing of trees. <br /> <br /> Called to set up free estimate, planned for him to come around 10am. He called a few minutes before and said he was running about 20-30 minutes late. Got a call from his partner (Chris Hutchinson), said he was in the area and can do an estimate. Overall he was still about an hour late for the estimate, but he called at least 6 times to let me know he was running late.  <br /> <br /> He looked at the trees and the worked needed to be done, quoted 450, came down to 400 even without negotiating since they were during their slow time. I agreed and they were willing to come out on Saturday at 9am.  <br /> <br /> Earl Smith (owner of Budget Tree Expert) and Chris Hutchinson (H&H Tree Service) both came out Saturday morning. They both work together on various jobs even though they own separate companies. They were 30 minutes late, but their communication is great, they called to let me know. They went to work, completed the above work, welcomed input from me on the progress and pruned the way I wanted to see the trees. They did a great job removing the vine/thorny bush. <br /> <br /> Overall great job, completed in 3.5 hours. Nice guys, gave me advice for the trees, provided additional services without pressure (tree fertilization). Will hire again when needed."

FAQs for lawn care aeration projects in Bay City, TX

Aeration is the best way to keep your lawn healthy and vibrant. Annual aeration makes your lawn more breathable and helps nutrients reach the roots, improving water absorption and reducing puddles where pests might breed. However, timing matters. It's best to avoid aerating during droughts, extreme heat, or if your lawn is battling weeds. A local pro can help you determine the ideal time for your yard.

Most lawns benefit from annual aeration to keep them healthy and thriving. If your lawn has a lot of thatch buildup—more than half an inch—you might need to aerate twice a year for a couple of years to get it under control. But if your soil isn't compacted and there's minimal thatch, you might be able to skip a year.

When you hire a professional lawn care company, a standard 10,000-square-foot lawn takes about 30 minutes to aerate. Uneven, sloped, or especially large lawns can take significantly more time. So, depending on your lawn's size and condition, the process can take anywhere from half an hour to several hours.

The best time to aerate your lawn is during the spring or fall when your grass is actively growing and the soil has enough moisture. Aerating once in the spring and once in the fall yields the best results. Avoid aerating when your lawn is dormant or right after heavy rain when the soil is too wet—that can make aeration less effective.

Even if your lawn looks healthy, aeration can still be beneficial. If you have good growth, proper drainage, and little thatch, you might not need to aerate right away. Regular aeration helps water and nutrients reach the roots, keeping your lawn strong over time. Keep an eye on your lawn's condition to decide when it might need aeration.
