"We contracted with Ms. Lily and the MA Landscaping team to redo our back patio on Capitol Hill in DC. The original patio had a dilapidated fence, an uneven brick floor, and overgrown shed. The moment that Ms. Lily stepped into the space, she had a vision for safeguarding the historic nature of the patio while integrating a modern look. She was receptive to our ideas and offered her own, which allowed us to come to a great combined vision. She didn't try to oversell us or pressure us into taking dramatic, expensive changes that weren't important to us. Throughout the project, Ms. Lily was hands-on, responsive, and receptive. The work was completed in 2 weeks. Her workers were friendly and when unexpected developments arose, they quickly sought our input as well as hers. Ms. Lily visited the property each day to inspect the progress. The final result was a patio that exceeded our expectations! We were thrilled by not only the end result, but also the journey to it. "We had an excellent experience working with Mike Erickson and his team from DC Patio. They removed the old concreate patio at the back of our house and installed a new large flagstone patio. They installed a new front stoop and a new front walkway. They performed a new drainage installation. They installed new footings for the deck posts and added decorative gravel under the deck area. They improved the back lawn grading. The quality of job is great. We highly recommend Mike and his team."

"We are so happy with our newly expanded patio. Best Landscaping did a phenomenal job with the design, planning, and installation of our patio, as well as a drainage system to stop flooding in our backyard. The contractors always showed up on time, and left the job site clean at the end of the day. From the start of the project, everything went very smoothly. I was given a very competitive estimate, and the company was always quick to respond when I had questions or concerns. The owner, Abel, was wonderful. He called and checked in often with the builders, and made sure things were going smoothly. When it turned out that we were going to have to make some additional changes, the change in pricing was very fair. When some materials were unavailable due to Covid, Abel worked hard to make sure we were happy with the substitutions. Since the french drain installation, we have had no problems with runoff and flooding. Can't say enough positive things about Best Lansdcaping - 5 star high quality construction and 5 star communication and customer service!"

"I do not normally write reviews, but I feel like I should let other people know about this company. I could write an entire essay on my experience with them but I will try and keep it short. I hired HL to redo my entire front lawn with new walkways, retaining walls, plants, mulch, and trees. I spent over $17,000 and thought I was getting a great deal. Dave and his group were very nice at first but once work had begun things quickly changed. They would say nice stuff to my face but I would catch them saying bad things about me behind my back. They had horrible communication with me, they rushed to get to the next job, and I had several problems with their work. The amount of stress they caused me was truly unfair to me. I eventually got most of the problems fixed. One of those problems was they did not install weed fabric under all my beds as discussed. They came back and fixed it but did a horrible job. They also put barely enough mulch back to cover the fabric and dirt so now I have a literal jungle in most areas. I was not happy before I paid but no amount of money is worth the issues they caused me. They even put grass seed in the mulched areas that are now grass. I would have tried to get them to come back out for the fourth time but it is not worth the stress. I expect a little maintenance but my yard looks nothing that was agreed to. I will have to fix it myself in the spring but I had to write this review because everyday I look at my yard and I am not pleased. Reading the other reviews makes mine stick out but I would not recommend them. Spend your money on a better company. UPDATE: Owner reached out to remedy the issue. They came out and pulled out all old mulch, weed, and weed fabric and replaced them. Looks much better. They seem to have taken more care this time and I hope it works. Fabric seems to have been put down better with more mulch too. I hope the mulch is deep enough with a combination of fabric to stop most weeds in the spring."

"Freedom Fence & Deck did a fantastic job replacing our 35-year-old wood fence with a beautiful white vinyl fence. Jim (the salesman) was very easy to work with and accommodated all of our design choices. We found particular latches and handles that we wanted to use, and they agreed to install them for us. The contract process was quick and straightforward. After about six weeks, they were ready to install the fence. They sent out two crews at the same time, plus the owner Steve, who worked alongside them. With seven people working, they managed to finish the entire job in just one day! Our old wood fence was completely removed in about 15 minutes, and then they meticulously installed the new fence, setting all the posts into wet concrete and making sure all the sections were straight. At the end of the long day, when one of the locking gate latches wasn’t working right, Steve patiently worked on it until eventually we realized the part was defective, so he replaced it with a working one. A certain kind of handle had to be ordered, and as soon as it came in, he came back to install it. The fence materials are extremely high quality—the vinyl feels very thick and sturdy, unlike the kind sold at the home improvement stores. And the new fence has completely transformed the look of our property—we’ve already had several compliments from neighbors. The whole process couldn’t have gone better, and I’m happy to recommend Freedom Fence & Deck for all your fencing needs!"

"Mejia Landcare does great work! We were in the market for a spring cleanup and reached out for an estimate. Jesus was prompt and friendly, knowledge of our plants and had a can-do attitude regarding everything we wanted done. His pricing was similar to what we paid a different provider last year, and in this time of inflation, that was appreciated! Scheduling was easy and the crew showed up first thing on the date scheduled. The crew leader was easy to talk to and shared Jesus' positive demeanor and willingness to make sure we were happy with the work. We have a fairly large property with numerous planting beds, and the crew worked diligently to pull weeds, hand edge with a shovel, trim shrubs (and pull out of couple of dead ones), and blow out leaves and other debris prior to spreading Preen (which we provided) and mulch. Everything looks great and we are very happy with the work and the experience. They will definitely be our first call in the future when we need landscaping services!"
