"API Roofing and Construction just replaced our roof and I give them the highest recommendation for roof repair and replacement. Several years ago, they replaced a skylight; then they replaced a roof on a family vacation home in Mathews County. Last week, they replaced the roof on our home in Queensmill, and were superb. I live in a 2300 SF one story with a big roof covered with 2 layers of shingles. They were extremely organized in their approach, very careful, neat, highly safety conscious and worked so unbelievably hard. My roof is beautiful and I can't say enough good things about Jason Marsili, the owner, and his crew. They were awesome and the price was competitive. Call them if you need your roof replaced."

"They are an incredibly professional organization. They are prompt, hard-working, and competitive on price. The team worked from sun up until sun down. The result is a beautiful roof that was done in a timely fashion with no surprises. I highly recommend Jacob's Ladder and consider them best in class. I have also used them for painting before and would have the same thoughts."

"Excellent work! At least 1/3 of my roof on the north side had a great deal of moss on it. On much of the rest of the roof there were small amounts of moss along the bottom edge of shingles, and there were patches in scattered places on the main part of the shingles. After Hector and his son cleaned the roof, it looked brand new. They removed plants and furniture from our deck before the job and replaced them after the job. They even did a light washing of the vinyl siding of the house, which was outside the agreed-upon scope of work, but they did not charge me for it. As a former member of a site safety office in a then-Fortune 50 company, I was particularly impressed with the excellent precautions they took to insure their safety on the roof during the job. Hector’s 27+ years of experience was evident in every aspect of the job. I plan to bring him back in a year for annual maintenance. I definitely recommend No More Dirty Roofs to any home owner needing roof cleaning."

"Initially we just wanted a new deck. Loved it so much we had them install retractable awnings. Came time for new siding and knew we could trust them for great quality at a fair price, replaced the doors and gutters at the same time. Could not ask for better company that stands behind their work. When we replace the windows we know who to call."

"Brian Holder and Classic Construction were the absolute best decision that we made for our Kitchen Model. This was not a simple remodel, this included tearing down three walls and putting a new structural beam in one area. The objective was to open it up and when it was finished i think it even surprised Brian how much it was open. The biggest difference that I see with Classic Construction and other companies we have worked with it the attention to detail and the professionalism. Everyday at the end of the day the crews would clean up and sweep arrange all tools or equipment so it wasn't in our way. Also if we had an issue Brian was right there to address it and the crew would be back out the next day. The updates each and everyday of who was coming and what they would be doing was such a comfort to my wife and I. The entire project was completed in under the 5 week estimate stated by Brian at Classic Construction. I wish i could attach a before and after on this web site and you would be stunned at the wonderful change. Once again, I know that i gave them an "A" that is only because there isn't an "A+" option."

"They were courteous and prompt. They did the work when I wasn't here, but I could tell they had done it and cleaned up. they were very conscientious. I even signed up for their rook protection plan that means they will come out and inspect twice a year and it gives me a discount on roofing repairs. <br />"

"Crown Roofing was recommended to me by a friend. They were the lowest bidder on my new roof installation and were the quickest to respond. They showed up as planned and had it finished the same day. Everything went as planned and the owner came by at the end of the day to make sure I was happy with the job and to check things over. I highly recommend this company!"

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Beaverdam, VA

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
