"Modernized Exteriors seem to have built a decent deck for a decent price but in a somewhat sloppy and dishonest way. First, they left hundreds of pieces of debris including over 100 nails, screws, and other fasteners, and hundreds of pieces of the old deck lying around, including some pieces over six feet long, many with embedded nails sticking out. For months, nearly every time my daughters went out to play they came back with a handful of nails and screws. Second, the old deck had a notch through which the gutter downspout passed to reach the drain in the ground. Instead of cutting a notch for the downspout, they just tossed it behind a bush allowing the gutter to empty directly onto the deck. They promised a 12-month warranty, saying they'd come out to correct any defects. When I mentioned the disconnected gutter they initially said they'd fix it, but then ignored my follow-up messages when I asked them to actually do it. So they may not honor their promises."

"Bryan Rodriguez, the owner of Nord Fence, undertook the installation of a covered patio at my property. I am writing to confirm that Bryan and his team failed to execute this job by industry standards and best practices. The company improperly attached a covered terrace to my existing roof. After several expert roofing assessments, it has been determined that their work did not comply with established roofing codes and regulations. Consequently, my entire roof now requires replacement due to the structural integrity being jeopardized by condensation and water damage resulting from the negligent installation. Furthermore, the actions of this company have compromised the integrity of my metal roof, which may expose them to potential liability for damages incurred. Despite multiple attempts to resolve this matter amicably, Bryan has been unaccountable and has not followed through on any communications. I am deeply concerned about the financial implications of these repair costs and disheartened that a company would engage in such practices that exploit consumers. Given the circumstances, I am considering further legal action to address these grievances and seek appropriate remedies."

"Ray Long of L and L Construction did an excellent job building a new front porch for our home. He was knowledgeable, professional and patiently answered all of our many questions. He made useful suggestions and when all was said and done we had the porch we wanted and needed. He is professional in every aspect of his work, arriving on time, keeping the work site clean, and finishing within the allotted time. We highly recommend him and, in fact, have already hired him for another project at our house."

"James Millions presented himself as a General Contractor that would take on the full project. We specifically told him we were looking for one contractor to fulfill every trade - even if that meant subcontracting out. In the end, that's not what happened. They sent us emails, "we don't have anyone to do that - sorry about that". Their communication was lacking - pretty much only email - a day or so later. Several times, they were on vacation and not reachable by us or their crew that was onsite. The site crew was fantastic. The site lead did everything he could to get the project completed, to best of his crew's ability. In the end, we had to manage the project by finding many other trades people to finish the job. What was supposed to be a small project, has been delayed because James' oversold his ability/desire to be the General Contractor of our job."

"The cedar porch floor was replaced with Azek porch flooring, the original cedar railing around the porch was replaced with a composite railing from Timbertech and a new railing up the walkway from the street was fabricated and installed by Ty, a subcontractor used by Country Carpenter. Ronnie, Country Carpenter's owner, was very professional. He was quick to make an appointment for the estimate, was clear about the timeline of the project, was very knowledgeable about materials and the building process, kept in communication concerning the project details and checked the site regularly to see that the project quality was up to his standards. The porch and surrounding railing installation were delayed at one point because the debut of the railing color was delayed by 18 months due to Covid. We decided to change the color of the flooring and the railing as a result. Ronnie had already purchased the flooring, but graciously agreed to exchange it for the new color we had requested. In short, I'd highly recommend Country Carpenter for the quality of the work provided, as well as the professionalism of Ronnie, his employees, and his subcontractors."
