"The existing heat pump was 16 years old and on its last legs and we had already decided last year to replace it, a decision which was reinforced during the colder-than-normal winter we experienced this year. We researched Angie's List for potential contractors and selected several HVAC contractors in the area who had good ratings and from whom we might request estimates. While Beachside did not have any ratings at the time, we decided to include them because they had given us great emergency service when others failed during the summer of 2008. After initial phone contact, we reduced the list to three contractors including Beachside from whom we requested quotations. One contractor dropped out when he saw the site and the scope of the job so we ended up with quotes from Beachside, a locally owned and operated business, and a local franchise of one of the nation's largest HVAC providers. Beachside's quoted price was the more competitive of the two and they matched the other company's extras so based on our previous experience with Beachside the decision was an easy one. The two-man installation team arrived at the agreed date and time and quickly got to work. They worked diligently and completed all the work in one day with the exception of the shroud installation since it could only be custom made after the unit was in place. One of the two owners visited during the installation to ensure all was well and to answer any questions we had. There was only one small glitch in the whole process. The original thermostat sourced for the installation was not capable of handling all the functions of the heat pump. This was only a minor annoyance as the air conditioner would still work and the proper one was installed when they returned to install the custom-made protective shroud a few days later. All in all, our experience with Beachside Air Conditioning has been extremely positive. Their responsiveness, attention to detail, and sincere approach to pleasing the customer are noteworthy. My expectations were high and Beachside exceeded them. I would highly recommend Beachside Air Conditioning to anyone in this area needing high quality HVAC work for a fair price."
