"I contacted four landscapers through Angie's List. Two never responded; one got back to me but couldn't do the work for weeks. John's responded quickly, popped by to survey the job (without me even knowing!) and was able to schedule it within the week. Two men came by and worked for three or four hours on the bed. It was too tough for a tiller, so in the end they used an industrial aerator to loosen the dirt/roots, then raked it out. They did a great job, were very careful of the surrounding garden decorations, and thoroughly cleaned up after themselves. "I hired Elmer and his crew to rehabilitate my landscaping after I purchased a new home. (I discovered that the developer filled a lot of the yard with stone dust, so the sod died. Also, the developer dumped a lot of dyed woodchips in the yard.) Elmer was very honest about the strengths and weaknesses about the existing landscaping. He and his crew removed the stone dust and replaced it with rich soil. They reseeded the yard and provided me with instructions about how to maintain the seeds so they would germinate. They replaced the bad dyed woodchips with more natural mulch, and they replaced dead plantings with live plantings that were more suited to the site. Overall, they did a great job. I would definitely hire them again for any future landscaping."
