Customers say: Quality work

"Excellent pricing! Jamie and his crew are Amazing! Poured 2 concrete pads 10 x 10 and a 16 x16. Started on a Tuesday morning, finished by Wednesday afternoon. They removed my old shed and patio cover and hauled off all of it. They had to take down my backyard gate but put the gate back perfectly when they were finished. These guys know what they're doing! Highly recommend this business!"

"JMG Construction is a smaller family business owned and operated by Juan Gomez. Since its a smaller company your able to speak with the owner directly and he will come to you home to go over exactly what you need. Juan will provide his own professional guidance to help you with you decision making and to make sure your getting exactly what you want. <br /> When I purchased my new house it had a very small driveway and needed a larger concrete patio. The back yard sloped down toward a creek and had a ton of brush and rocks. Juan added a large extension to my driveway and added a 18x16 patio. He brought in about 20 dump truck loads of dirt and leveled my back yard. He even added metal posts for me so I could put up a wooden privacy fence. Now my back yard is ready for a sprinkler system and SOD. It's going to look beautiful. The driveway and patio already look beautiful.  <br /> I have used JMG construction in the past and so hasn't my girlfriend and mother in-law. JMG put a patio in my last house and a patio at my girlfriends house. My mother in-law had them put a sidewalk in several years ago and the sidewalk is still like brand new. Both patio's are solid and I haven't had any issues with them.  <br /> JMG does more than just concrete, and landscaping work. I'm also going to use JMG to add a roof over my patio and to replace my fireplace inside my house. The current fireplace is cheap and ugly. They are going to tear the current one out and replace it with much larger one.  <br /> Your not going to find a more professional trustworthy company than JMG Construction. Juan does outstanding work at a very reasonable price. Your not going to find anyone that can match his prices, believe me I tried. Juan responds to your location fast to give you an estimate and completes the work in a timely manner. He takes time to go over what you want and answer any questions you have along the way. He's flexible so if for some reason your like me and want to change something at the last minute.  <br /> I plan on using JMG Construction for all of my future work, and I have a lot of projects planned. I usually don't write reviews or provide recommendations for people but this company exceeded my expectations so much I had to let ya'll know how awesome they are. Use JMG Construction and you will be very satisfied. <br />"

"This is the second time I've hired Chris. First to inspect our home last year during a real estate transaction and just today to provide expert advice on removing 2 small walls in the house. His home inspections are thorough and professional. I remember the price being a little higher than the big companies, but you get what you pay for. I'm still working through the list of issues he identified and they were all spot-on. He didn't miss anything. For the structural inspection today, again beyond expectations. It was a challenging problem to check if one wall was load-bearing because the A/c unit was mounted directly above it in the attic. At first he determined that it was likely load bearing as best he could and gave me the options. I was disappointed but that was what I needed to know. Later, after checking the other wall i asked about, he came back with a new plan to check the first wall. He asked if he could pull up a platform board next to the a/c that was nailed down but had nothing on top. I agreed, and sure enough once he pulled it up he was quickly able to determine that the wall was actually between the joists and not load-bearing. That's why I like him. He doesn't walk away until he figures it out. That double check potentially saved me thousands in bringing in a contractor to install a beam, inspect, etc. I will absolutely call Chris for any future inspections/advice/expert opinion on anything related to the house. Thanks Chris!"

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Belton, TX

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
