"The project started in October 2024 and still hasn t been completed. After I paid him $1800 on 10-22-24 to start the project. I paid him an additional $9000 on October 27, 2024. After paying him both times by check, he contacted me on the phone and told them that his bank from time to time would run checks on him to make sure where his income came from and that I should lie to the bank if they called and tell them that I paid the $9000 to him for a truck I bought from him. He said that this was normal that his bank does this all the time and I was ready into the job for $1800 that I gave to him so I lied on the phone when the bank called me and asked where the $9000 came from. He did show up and do some work but then was gone said that he had other jobs to do and he was waiting for the ground to firm up so he could continue with the job and until that was done that he couldn t work on my job anymore until that firmed up. after waiting for over a year and it still wasn t getting anywhere, he told me that he needed more money for wood to complete the project which I told him he had plenty of money out of the deposit that I gave him to buy the wood by physically looking at what he had bought. It was nowhere near the $9000 that I gave him, so I agreed to meet him at the lumberyard and buy the wood and come with him with the wood back to my property. On the day that we were supposed to meet, he never showed up so I contacted him and he told me that his wife died that s why he couldn t make it to the lumberyard, which I don t know which he was lying or not but I told him I was sorry to hear for his loss and for him to get a hold of me when we could reschedule to get the wood. I never heard from him after that and made attempts to try to get a hold of him by emails phone calls and text in one of the emails that he sent me earlier. He said I would be doing a favor to him if I could find another contractor to finish the work because he didn t have any money and he needed to do other jobs before he finished my project and was not willing to give me any money back from the initial payment that I gave him. I believe he s a scam artist and never intended to finish the job which I m having a hard time now trying to find somebody that will complete the job that he has started."
