"I contracted with Emerald to do a 4200 square foot driveway paver project. For those that don't know, this is quite a large job. The only real delay to the project was the fact that it took over 3 months to get the 42 pallets of material that were required. That had nothing to do with Emerald. Once the materials were on-site, the workers worked steadily to get the job done. There was a snow storm and several rainy periods, but that didn't cause too much delay. One key point for me was the attention to detail by the workers. All around the circular driveway, all the pavers were trimmed to provide a very aesthetically pleasing result. This included going up against an existing retaining wall, my house, and a carport concrete pad. I had several change orders that Emerald accommodated in a professional manner. Emerald was also flexible in matching up to an 1800 square foot paver project I had done myself with my own hands over 30 years ago. In summary, if you need a hardscape project professionally completed at a fair cost, hire Emerald!!"

"We worked with Mason and his team at Sino-American to remove our existing chain link fence and broken iron gate and replace with a new wooden fence and custom built gate for our DC rowhouse. We coordinated with our next door neighbor who was getting the same work done and had worked with Mason before and they built both our fences and gates in teh same day. Mason was very professional and communicative throughout the entire process and produced top notch work that we are very happy with. Our project was unique and complicated given several obstacles including our existing ground level deck, our neighbor's property sitting a few feet higher than ours and a huge tree on the property line that posed some design challenges. Our front steps were unevenly spaced with an almost 10" drop to the first step.  Mr. Langhorne explained how they would bring the steps into code and keep them from separating from the porch again.  His sons arrived on time and completed the job in one day as promised.  Something that was not planned for, but turned out to be unavoidable was the fact that the railing needed to be removed, as the angle was now wrong.  Not to worry a call was made to a guy who could assist with the iron work to replace the hand rail.

Caution tape was posted around the steps so no one would walk in wet concrete.  They not only cleaned up our yard but also replaced the grass divots removed before the steps were poured.  We are very satisfied with the work and will definitely use Langhorne Concrete services in the future.

"Steve Norfolk and his crew dug down to the footing and applied the waterproof material a section at a time.  The original plan was to dig the entire area first and then apply the waterproof material all at the same time.  However daily torrential rains turned the area into a sea of mud, so he decided to do it a section at a time to minimize problems associated with the rain.  He had to break up a concrete slab (porch) for 1/2 the front, and approximately 25 feet of driveway next to the house.  Progress was slow due to the rain and mud, but Steve steadfastly pursued the completion of the job despite the setbacks.  Although justifiably discouraged by the rain and lack of progress, he exhibited a positive "can do" attitude and kept at it.  The finished product was professionally done.  Backfill and all concrete were properly completed, and grass seed applied.  Steve is a conscientious professional who knows his business and can be relied upon to do the work he says he will accomplish.  I would use him again in a heartbeat.

"Went very well.  VRN Masonry is extremely customer focused and communicated well via Angie's list messenger (which worked all for me) and via phone.  We met for 2 design phases.  Clear cut estimate in which I confirmed our discussions.  I was unsure of concrete steps or replacing with wooden steps that were previously there.  VRN Masonry assisted in deciding and designing the concrete steps.  The job was professional and the workers were did a great job.   I would highly recommend.  In addition the estimate was on par or below 3 other estimates.
