"I first met Tony, owner of Nexxus Remodeling, soon after his lead hardwood flooring installer had come to check out my home so they could send me an estimate. My project was to rip out all carpet in my upstairs, and on the stairs from the 1st floor. Even before I had received all bids I’d sought from him and other contractors, Tony found out the floor I’d intended to buy was out of stock. He arranged for me to go to a showroom that has the best inventory and selection I’d seen in my search, and he met me there to personally assist me to find flooring I liked just as well as my first choice. I was soon able to determine that Tony’s bid was very comprehensive and reasonable, but his efforts to help me before even being hired had impressed me just as much. If you want to hire a contractor who will go to extreme lengths to ensure you end up a totally satisfied customer, Tony. He said from the beginning that he wouldn’t consider my flooring project completed until I felt that every detail had been attended to, and he meant it! Tony personally checks in frequently to monitor the project. His crew does it all (carpet removal and disposal; installation of hardwood flooring, moldings and risers; carpentry; removal and replacement of doors and furniture; and, clean up after each days work). Not only that but they removed a washer and dryer that had konked out, and brought them downstairs onto my patio, AND then they cleaned out a laundry area that had at least 25 years worth of lint and dust built up in it. I sincerely recommend Nexxus Remodeling for your next home renovation project - not just for hardwood installation (they do it all!)."

"All went well, the tech was an older gentleman,, he had a huge backpack filled with essential tools and completed the install in about 20 mins. Fairly professional, though he did put his heavy backpack on our concrete counters, I put a towel down to cushion the bag and avoid scratching.

"C R Appliance was the 2nd company I hired to look at my fridge. The first company came and diagnosed that I needed a new condenser. Their price to change the condenser seemed high so I asked C R Appliance to quote me a price. Their price was half of the 1st company's price so I accepted. When the tech came, he found that my condenser was not the problem and that the board controlling the condenser had burnt out. He said that if I had changed the condenser I would've still had a broken refrigerator and I would've had to further pay for a new board. He also said that my condenser was very high quality and that a new condenser would've probably been of lower quality. I would highly recommend C R Appliance based on my experience with them."

"Overall, things went very well. He was initially delayed because of an exterior job that needed completion due to impending weather, but once on site, he focused on the job and began to resolve it. He realized a standard GFIC was too large for the space and ordered a smaller one. He was quite knowledgable about electrical work in old houses and was great about explaining how they work, even sending me a diagram so I could understand what he was doing. Although he was delayed by flooded streets, he returned to finish the job, despite some of the worst weather we've had in Los Angeles in decades. He finished the work for the price quoted, plus the cost of the GFIC, the outlets on both sided of the wall now work, the vanity light has a dedicated switch and the lights go on with a safer outlet, and the tenant is happy."

"I hired Yari based on positive Angie's List reviews.  Overall, I'd give him a luke warm rating, and MIGHT use him again, though would probably investigate some other options first.  The work done overall was good, however...

The clean-up was poor.  There was a LOT of small broken tile bits and dust left over after they replaced the kitchen tiles.  I have cats (as they saw), and they could have very easily tracked sharp small bits of broken tile on their paws from the loads of it left on the kitchen floor and in the grooves where the grout is.  When they repaired the broken stucco outside, they left dust and debris at the site and obviously threw the remaining water/plaster/mortar/whatever mix through a fence and into my neighbor's yard (am going to try and attach pix - I think I can do that here).  The price he quoted me was for parts and labor ASSUMING I had all those parts already.  I had to go myself with one of his workers to a nearby plumbing supply store to pick up needed items.

He was very responsive in person and by phone, and very cordial and prompt.  The work was decent enough.  I don't know enough about home repairs and contracting to know how fair the price was, but it seemed to be in the ballpark. 

Overall recommendation : Proceed, but with caution, and make sure you're clear from the outset what exactly your needs are and what exactly he's promising to provide.  And make sure they clean up properly before leaving."
