"Chrisâ s communication on project estimate, timeline, and cost was first class. When he started, he focused on our project and delivered a high quality product in a timely manner. He was able to match our existing texture to our new addition, which was a custom job. Very hard worker and high quality product. Couldnâ t be happier with the outcome."

I offer a wide range of services from framing to trimming out. I specialize in Carpentry, Trim, Floors, Decks, Paint, Windows, and Doors. I take my time in understanding what a client wants and do my best to make sure they are beyond pleased with what they are paying for. I take pride in my work and stand by it. I have a little over 3 years of experience, some before my time in the Marine Corps and 2 years after getting out. I am by myself but willing to take on whatever you may need!

I have been servicing the building industry since 1980. I can help with most home improvements. With over 30 years of personal experience of sales and installations of Ceramic Tile and Natural Stone Tile, many other phases of home improvements were either included or supervised by me. My expertise lies in the finished product, yet no finished product can look good for long without all of the sub-structures being constructed properly. I study and follow current building codes that will make the finished product look great and last for many years. With over 30 years experience in home improvements, I can take care of every phase of your project. I know the building business and am good at what I do, where you are good at what you do. I will guide you through the entire home improvement project from drawing up the plans to the final cleaning of the project. If other sub-contractors are needed (major plumbing, major electrical, etc.) I will contact, contract, supervise and be personally responsible for their work on your project. My normal billing procedure is to ask for 1/2 down with any major credit card, check or cash with progress payments until the end of the project. The 1/2 down is to cover materials specifically required for your project and to secure a firm commitment in blocking out the time on my schedule required to get the job done. A majority of my projects involve owners or property management who can not readily visit the property being worked on. To keep people informed and involved. I use the internet to send send proposals, invoices, receive payments, upload CAD drawings and upload progress pictures via email or to a secure website. If there are any questions, concerns or comments about any phase of the project, I try to make it easy to communicate and document my customer's needs. All uploaded photos can have comments on them, and online conversation threads can be created to document everything that is discussed about the project. All of these online interactions are secure and only available to me, my design/quality control staff and you. These interactions can be easily shared by my customer to anyone they wish, anywhere in the world to help guide them through the home improvement process or even boast to the world of the work they are doing to their home. All online sharing permissions are approved by the customer and will not be used by PM Home Improvements for any other reason not previously approved.

Converting plaster to drywall requires between three days and one week for a standard-sized room. The timeline includes the removal of existing plaster, the installation of drywall panels, and the application of finishing compounds. Each finishing coat needs time to dry completely before the next application, which extends the overall schedule.
For multi-room projects, expect several weeks of work. Always build additional time into your schedule for unexpected challenges like discovering structural issues behind walls.
Upon discovering potentially hazardous materials like asbestos or lead paint, immediately stop all demolition work. These substances require professional handling by certified remediation specialists using proper containment procedures.
Never attempt to remove these materials yourself, as improper handling can release dangerous particles throughout your home. Contact local environmental testing services to confirm the presence of hazardous materials before proceeding with any further work on your walls.
The decision to replace historic plaster with drywall requires careful consideration of both practical and preservation factors. While drywall offers easier repairs and modern convenience, original plaster contributes significantly to a historic home's authenticity and character.
Many preservation-minded homeowners choose a middle path—repairing plaster in visible, architecturally significant spaces while using drywall in less prominent areas or rooms that experience moisture issues. Check with local historic preservation guidelines, as some districts have specific requirements for maintaining period features.
When your walls are opened during plaster removal, you have an ideal opportunity to address other home improvement needs. Consider upgrading insulation to improve energy efficiency, modernizing outdated electrical wiring, or updating plumbing lines. Adding new electrical outlets or communication wiring becomes much simpler during this phase. Tackling these improvements while walls are already open is significantly more cost-effective than addressing them later as separate projects that would require reopening finished walls.
