"Blair Exteriors replaced several wooden windows in my 80 year old home with Wincore vinyl windows and did a phenomenal job. The crew arrived on time, got the job done in a reasonable amount of time and then cleaned up after themselves. The windows and trim look great. Further, the price I was invoiced for at the end of the job was exactly what was quoted to me at the outset of the project. I am planning to replace the rest of the windows next year and will definitely be using Blair again."

"Mark and team were professional, very easy to work with, and rebuilt our old deck in 2-3 weeks even with the Covid craziness going on. Mark is very detailed oriented and committed to quality work. We got 6-7 quotes which were all over the place. His was not the least expensive; but we are glad we went with him, it was well worth it!"

"Our job was a CHALLENGE which Mr. McKay handled professionally and wonderfully. The rear of our home is off the slope of a mountain so re-engineering the sketchily built sunroom and decks was a major concern and HUGE project. We no longer worry that the back of our house is going to fall off the mountain and take the rest of the house with it.
Not only was the slope a challenge, but the original body of the house was built in 1915, so fitting the new into the old raised it's own set of problems. Again, Mr. McKay and his team handled it beautifully from blending the new wood flooring with the original to matching an arched opening in the living room to make the new entrance into the gallery look like it was there from the beginning and, of course, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing issues, as well. Could not have asked for a better job to have been done. It is fabulous to see your plan come out even better than you imagined.
Mr. McKay was also very responsive to our thoughts and ideas, often going the extra mile to work out details for us, like the cove lighting we did all along the sunroom and gallery which added so much to the look and to the nighttime ambiance of the space, creating a soft lighting source which doesn't interfere with the view of the city lights.
We worked with an architect who, several years previously, had drawn a master plan for us for this home (This was Phase II of that plan and we wish we had worked with Mr. McKay for Phase I) and a structural engineer because of the slope. Mr. McKay worked with both of them really well. All of the sub-contractors and Mr. McKay's team were very competent and a pleasure to work with.
Mr. McKay was also very conscientious about protecting our grand old oak from construction damage which was another of our big concerns.
Dos and Don'ts:
Do use Mr. McKay if you want a job super well done.
Do make all the changes to the space being remodeled at the time of the remodel. We chose to not change out a couple of existing windows while we were doing the work to save a little money. Getting ready to call Mr. McKay to see about getting them replaced now. Would have been so much easier and less expensive to do it at the time of the big project.

Two caveats, which have nothing to do with the quality of the work Mr. McKay did, but which would have helped if I'd done them:

1.Think about the esthetic look of supports and foundations, I envisioned the tops of all of the steel beam footings to be at the same height, but didn't articulate that to Mr. McKay or the structural engineer, so the tops all of the footings are differing heights which makes landscaping a challenge.

2. Make sure any dimensional changes are remeasured by everyone involved - architect, engineer, and contractor. We added a foot of depth to the deck, but forgot to inform the engineer so he could make the appropriate changes on his design. It didn't change the structural integrity, but again, the esthetics of the footings are not as I envisioned.

Truly cannot say enough good things about our experience working with Mr. McKay. Would work with him again in a heartbeat.

"
