"Had a small concrete job that needed finishing (minor rebar tying and concrete then the concrete mixing/pouring) - and while the weather was good. Anderson was really quick to communicate, and able to give an initial estimate via multiple photos - then followed up with a site visit to confirm. He was able to schedule the job quicker than expected due to finishing another project early, and he (and a helper) worked until nearly dark to finish. They were friendly, hardworking and respectful - leaving the job site as clean as they found it, with only minor clarifications required."

"We had a serious water heater leak throughout 4 rooms. Rick had the floor dismantled and replaced - better than it had been originally. The original installers had not staggered the planks — he did and the floors look better than ever. Rick and the men who did the work couldn't have been more professional while getting the job done!! So happy with the results that I would definitely hire Rick again for any future work needing to be done!"

"The owner Joe, seal coated our double driveway personally. Joe had completely excavated our previous driveway and replaced it with an expanded new one. He was on time for the date that we had scheduled. He used the highest quality sealer, known as Liquid Gold. Joe was meticulous in the application of the sealer and made sure the job was neat and clean upon completion. The end result was a professional driveway in both function and appearance. Primo Paving Inc. has our highest recommendation."

"Lou was great to work with- friendly, professional, easy-going, and most importantly, responsive. Even with me having some work travel in between when we spoke and when the work was performed and a couple communication hiccups, Lou and Andrew were friendly and professional and committed to moving forward to get the job done. They showed up when they said they would, did exactly what we agreed upon, and finished up early leaving my driveway looking great and cleaned to boot. I would definitely recommend them and plan to hire then again for any future maintenance on our concrete driveway!"

"The estimate was casual and in-person, the owner of the company came to look over everything himself, give me options, and we discussed prices on the spot. We had to wait a couple months until the ground had thawed, but the crew arrived on the day they said, and set to work. The old retaining wall was removed, the earth was dug up and drainage was put in, then a new wall. All the work was done in two days, and they cleaned up everything after themselves. <br /> There was a very large boulder to one side, and I expected that to be removed to make way for the wall, but it would have been a lot more money to blast it out, so it made sense to keep it, and they added some field stones around it to make it blend in, and I like the way it ended up looking in the end. <br /> The wall is beautiful and fits in with the landscape. Rather than just go with one color of blocks all the way through, they mixed in a few off color stones, and I was concerned, but I really like the look. Two years later, the wall is still perfectly straight and level and is draining properly. <br /> They did end up stealing one of my shovels though! Well, it was out in the yard and they packed it up with the rest of their gear. They brought it back the next day, and they left me the spare pieces of bluestone that weren't used. I'm using them for stepping stones in the garden. <br /> Thye may not be for you if you're a control freak: If you want a team of designers to draft up perfectly measured and drawn plans that you can look over, with everything measured to the inch, you may want to go with a different design company. Well, they might offer this, but its not what they did for me- the planning stage was informal and loose. But if you are willing to let some professionals with a lot of experience to take your suggestions and needs and do what will work best for your yard and budget, and trust them, you'll end up with some really nice work. <br /> Ill definitely use Best Hands again when I need a new walkway. <br />"

"Norbert and Adam are wonderful to work with. At a time when it’s difficult to find contractors who do what they say they’ll do, Norbert stands out… he and his crew are a joy rather than the typical headache! And their work—it’s just beautiful. Referred to us by a trusted friend (who also has a review here), we saw the quality of his work and hired them for a shed foundation with paver trim. We were so happy we hired him again to redesign our house’s front entry stairs, and stamp our front walkway, driveway lamp posts, and house foundation. It came out better than we could have hoped and enhanced the curb appeal of our house tremendously. Next, we wanted to raise a stone wall to help hide a home generator we had installed. This is where Norbert really excelled. He knew that we needed to reinforce the wall to support the generator… and he was right! They built a new one out of concrete, with french drains, to both support and hide it. As soon as we finished that, we planned our next project… a new stamped concrete driveway to replace our old asphalt one. They just finished it last week and it’s a WOW! We’re already talking about what our next project will be, so my advice—hurry up and hire him before my husband and I do again!! ;)"

"I am extremely pleased with the work that Kirby Masonry did. I had an old all brick stairway (8 feet wide, 7 stairs high) replaced with brick risers and pillars/sidewalls (as original) but with blue mist granite treads. I believe the brick color was Mohawk. I originally thought of using bluestone but Jason suggested blue mist granite. He and his stone supplier, Southridge Farm in Walpole, informed me that bluestone is not as durable, supply is dwindling and is more expensive than blue granite. It was a good alternative to the regular gray granite that is used and I like the look. The mortar in the original brick stairs was disintegrating due to the use of salt for snow/ice melting and I was committed to having a stair surface that would be less permeable to chemicals. Jason and his crew did outstanding work and the results are superb. The new stairs look fantastic and are much safer now that the old brick stairs have been replaced. The new stairs looked so good that I was inspired to have the stair landing leading to the sidewalk and the upper landing leading to the front door replaced as well. The original landings were stamped concrete and were OK but detracted from the look of the new stairs. I had Jason and his crew install both landings with Belgard rectangle pavers (London Cobble Danville Blend for the landings Charcoal for the borders). The finished job added a cleaner, elegant and updated look to the house. In addition to the front stair and landing replacement I had Jason and his crew point the stone foundation of the house. It had been pointed about 15 years ago but I felt it was time to get it done again. I like the work that Jason and the crew had done and was confident that they would do a thorough job with the pointing, too. Jason had time in his schedule to fit in the pointing job so I had it done right after the stairs were replaced. I talked to several masons last fall before selecting Kirby Masonry and was running up against the cold weather for getting the job done. Quotes ranged from $4,000 to $20,000 depending on how much work was involved. Jason's quote was most favorable and he offered different options since I wasn't sure if I was going to replace the pillars/sidewalls or if I needed to replace the landings. He was flexible and provided me with several locations where he was currently doing work or had completed work so I could see what his work was like. I liked that these jobs were local and that he was transparent about his work. He could have done the work last November but we decided to have it done this past spring. Jason offered the best price and could do the job sooner than the others. It took about a week to do all the jobs. After the jobs were done I noticed there was a small gap in the upper landing between the border and the wall where more mortar was needed. I contacted Jason and he took care of it. It was a very small fix and not critical so I was not surprised when it was not taken care of right away. I believe that if I was more concerned about getting this fixed sooner Jason would have done it. Overall, I highly recommend Kirby Masonry and will definitely hire them again for any masonry job I might have. Jason is very timely and communicates mostly by texting and responds quickly. He was there every day working with his crew. They did a great job cleaning up and even replaced the soil in the areas of the lawn next to the side pillars which had been displaced/moved. I have received many compliments on the new stairs and landing from my neighbors and people who parked on the street near the house. Unlike some masons he did not place a sign on the lawn with his company name. I suggested that he might want to but he was ok not doing so. I've had some requests for his contact information which I gladly provide. Since Jason is very busy and if you like his quote I recommend that you get on his schedule as soon as possible. Some tips: Use sand on brick stairs. Salt and chemicals wreck the mortar. Who knew especially when we were trying to keep up during the megastorms of 2014-2015? If you go to Southridge Farm you might want to bring your kids as they have farm animals (including a llama) on site. They have a huge selection of pavers and stones to view. Check their website for more info."

"Well! I will preface this review by admitting that I made a rookie homeowner mistake, and as Steve was pulling in my driveway (a 40 minute drive for him!), I realized that apparently a spigot had been left on, and when things thawed a bit, was clearly the source of the water coming in to our basement. I was ridiculously embarrassed, after having Steve come all the way to Conway from Holyoke! Nevertheless, he still checked out the basement and spent a bit of time giving me some really great tips on how to minimize the water exposure in our basement, which happens sometimes even when I don't leave the spigot on! I really appreciated Steve's professionalism and graciousness for giving me some guidance on how to make some needed improvements to my home. New home ownership is a tricky road to travel, and the path is much easier to navigate when professional service people like Steve recognize an honest mistake and still treat their customer with respect and kindness. I would absolutely recommend Steve and his company for any type of foundation or waterproofing service, and should we ever *actually* need their services at our home, I will happily call them back (after doing a thorough check to make sure it isn't anything I can address myself before calling a professional!). Steve was prompt, friendly, and professional. Really the gold standard of any service provider, and I have been in customer service my whole life. This company is top notch. <br />"

FAQs for concrete driveways & floors installation projects in Blackstone, MA

Polished concrete floors offer many benefits with very few drawbacks. While issues like discoloration, stains, or imprints may occur during pouring, these are rare when working with a skilled flooring contractor. Once polished, concrete floors are easy to maintain, long-lasting, and eco-friendly. They also resist mold and moisture, making them ideal for allergy-prone households, and offer versatile design options for both indoor and outdoor use.

Polished concrete flooring is often more affordable than tile. It involves lower material costs and less labor-intensive installation. Tile installations require additional leveling and preparation, which increases labor costs. Opting for concrete flooring helps reduce upfront expenses and provides a durable, stylish finish that saves money over time with minimal maintenance.

While epoxy flooring offers enhanced durability and toughness compared to polished concrete, it comes with higher material and labor costs. If budget is a top priority, polished concrete floors provide a resilient and attractive finish without the premium price tag, making them an ideal choice for value and long-term performance.

Polished concrete floors last 20 years or more when installed by licensed professionals and maintained with proper care. Their enduring finish withstands heavy use and remains visually impressive for decades. Regular deep cleaning and maintenance help safeguard the floor’s integrity, providing homeowners with a long-lasting, cost‐effective solution that endures daily wear without compromising style.

Polished concrete floors increase home value by offering a modern, sleek appearance and exceptional durability. A professionally installed floor not only enhances visual appeal but also minimizes maintenance expenses, making the property more attractive to prospective buyers. This flooring upgrade delivers a refined look while boosting overall market competitiveness and long-term property value.
