Once we settled on Baumann's Landscaping as our contractor, we called Rick and the crew were out the next morning promptly at 9am. We were expecting two days of work to clear the brush, but they completed the job in 4 hours. The crew went above and beyond, killing vines choking our trees, mulching all the deadfall, and pushing the brush line all the way back beyond the trees (we live on Maryland wetlands). "Through the whole estimating and scheduling process, I had to take all the initiative. But at least he was responsive, which the other contractors weren't. Behnke's used to say, "Dig a $20 hole for a $10 plant," wider rather than deeper. He didn't really do that, but he did loosen the soil. While loosening roots of a nearby tree, they cut our FIOS cable, so we had no internet for a day. I blame both myself and him for not anticipating that possibility. In the end, it looked great, and the price was right."

"I can't recommend these guys highly enough. Carlos is extremely professional, punctual and courteous. Sabrina in the office is also very pleasant to deal with. 
Master Fences had installed our existing fence a few years ago and we called them back to extend the fence further around our property to give our two large dogs more space to run around. We also called them back a week and a half later to install some lattice around our deck. Both times Carlos and his crew arrived for the work (and the estimate beforehand) on time and the staff worked quickly and efficiently. Everything looks great and we couldn't be happier. "Mark Simpson and East Coast Landscaping were great to work with on this project. At every step of the way, Mark worked with us to get what we want, and stay within the budget we had set. They were able to completely change our backyard from a plain old DC yard with a less than ideal deck, into an oasis in NE DC. They were able to take my original plans for our yard and create a perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of the DC work life and stay within budget while still adding in the little extras we came up with in the last few days. The value of the work done will add 2 times the amount spent on the project once we decide to sell and move on form this house. But that will be tough to do now that we have the backyard of our dreams. I would highly recommend East Coast Landscaping for any work you are considering getting done to your house.
