"Jeremy's service was exceptional. He called us back very quickly and was able to explain clearly over the phone the difference between the lead inspection and risk assessment, so that we could make a decision on how we wanted to move forward. We were working under a short due-diligence time frame (purchasing a house), and he was able to come out very quickly. I walked around with him as he did all the testing, and he explained everything as we went along. Afterward, he sent us a written report detailing the locations of lead paint in the house and analyzing the samples he took for lead hazards. If you have any concerns about lead in your house, he is THE PERSON to call. He is extremely knowledgeable, and I learned so much just from observing him doing the testing. These services are well worth the money as they give you all the information you need about the dangers of lead paint in your house. Jeremy also gave me a list of contractors who could give us options for dealing with the lead paint, and everyone he referred me to was extremely responsive.  <br /> Jeremy was the best person we worked with during our home buying process. I highly highly highly recommend him. <br />"

"Working with A1A Environmental was one of the most positive experiences I have had working with a company on a project for my home. They were knowledgeable, professional, and communicated clearly with me every step of the way. They were timely and efficient and did quality work. I would recommend them to anyone who needs asbestos, lead, and/or mold testing and removal for their home or business."

"Paul Davis was BEST! They did such a great job at my office I hired them to do my personal residence and my 2 rental properties. They do the best job on floors I have ever seen. Their people are very polite and do a great job. I have also refered them to a friend that had a water heater burst. Paul Davis was able to save my friends thousands of dollars and got them back to normal much faster than expected. Paul Daivis is the best in this town."

"What they actually do is mold and mildew testing. I talked to Shawn and he gave me free advice over the phone that was excellent. It included some things that helped solve the problem but most importantly he referred me to the company that actually solved the problem. He told me that often times remediation can be avoided if you follow several suggestions. In my case it was extremely helpful but it was because of his recomendation that my problem was finally solved. Heaton Environmental was outstanding! It was free advice and he helped me over a several phone calls."

"They did a very good job with the repair of the smoke damage. They were however supposed to replace any personal items that they damaged, and they had insurance to cover that. However, after several calls they still have not replaced  any the items that they broke."

FAQs for toxic lead testing projects in Blue Ridge, GA

If your home was built before 1978, there’s a strong chance it contains lead-based paint. Many pre-1980 houses also contain lead in their plumbing and decorative materials, so age alone is a significant red flag. Older homes near industrial areas face an even higher risk. Because you can’t confirm lead by sight, scheduling a test is the safest way to protect your family.

In older houses, lead can lurk in painted trim, window sashes, soil around the foundation, plumbing pipes, and even vintage hardware. The metal is toxic, and children and pregnant women are most at risk. Exposure can trigger developmental delays, learning problems, and organ damage. Because the EPA links even low levels to serious health effects, test every suspected surface and address any hazards right away.

A positive test means lead is present somewhere you can touch, breathe, or disturb. The next step is a full risk assessment to map exactly where the hazard lies and outline the safest fix: encapsulation, enclosure, or full removal. Repairs start at $1,000 but can exceed $10,000 for complete elimination, so act quickly and hire certified pros to keep your family safe.

EPA lead certification proves that inspectors, risk assessors, and abatement contractors follow federal safety rules under the Renovation, Repair, and Painting (RRP) Program. The credential costs an average of $300, and certified professionals can legally test, contain, or remove lead hazards. Hiring a certified pro protects you from fines and ensures the work meets strict health standards.

Lead-based paint looks no different from any other paint, so you can’t identify it by color or sheen. Even flawless walls may hide it. If paint starts chipping, flaking, or peeling, schedule a professional test right away. Only laboratory-grade testing confirms lead and guides the safest fix for your home.
