"I am a fairly accomplished do it yourself. Siding, window replacement and kitchens however Iâ m advanced in years and I draw the line at roofing. I am very particular as to how things are done, things have to be right or not at all. I found JI Roofing to share in my standards and in some ways they even exceeded them. There were not sel cited based upon price but they did prove to be the best value. They even went the extra mile (as I would) by eliminating a hump in the roof due to the house structure as originally built. Their attention to detail and quality and pride in workmanship were exceptional. At the end of a long day they completely replaced my roof and everything weather related up there and than took extreme care to clean the entire worksite better than they found it. [Normal for the east end of long island.] <><> THE Work ethic was outstanding: (a) explained all work, (b) answered questions, (c) made sure I knew what was going to be done: including the materials to be used and the quality of the materials to be used. In addition, The work was not JUST a repair, it was the installation of a new flat roof over a two-car garage, which necessitated (1) removing the decking, and placing it on the patio (neatly!); (2) removing the stringers, cleaning all debris that lay beneath the decking, including rotted stringers, with nailing to be removed, and biological debris from leaves, tree seeds, etc, (3) power washing the top of the base roofing that will remain, epoxying all rows of nail holes on the 20x17 roof, laying a base epoxy coat prior to installing the new roofing fabric. <><><> In addition, Brian cleaned the chimney from my wood-burning stove, surveyed the roof and the flashing around two chimneys, and found the flashings in need of replacement, those flashing were also repaired. <><> Finally, one section of siding on the second story was replaced with a matching sheet of asphalt shingle. "I decided to have my roof inspected and replaced (if necessary). I had several companies come look at the roof and I decided on Brothers. After the inspection I was told it had to be replaced and I was given a presentation where I was told everything that would be done, I made a few decisions about materials and colors and gave him a deposit. It took 3 weeks because of other work they were doing and then the weather but they came and took down the roof the first day then came back and put on the new roof on Day 2. They worked nonstop both days and cleaned up the mess before they left. My new roof looks terrific and I am very happy with it. That was the good and now the bad. When I got my estimate ($9500) I was told the only other possible charge was if they had to replace any roof panels. I asked worse case scenario and he said all 65 panels would have to be replaced at $65 each (after 5 free) or $3900. I asked how likely that was and he said that he just completed 2 roofs and hadn't replaced a single panel. So of course 15 minutes after they start he tells me they have to replace all 65 panels. When he came by a few days later for the balance I meant to ask him about my discount but I forgot until after he left. I texted him but my text messages went unanswered until I sent an email to the company and I got a phone call within the hour. I explained that I paid $12,900 after a $500 discount but it should have been a $1,000 discount (website says $1k on projects over $10k). First they said that they gave a $9500 price so the $3900 additional cost doesn't count! Then he changed directions and said that he charged me $65 per panel instead of $75 per panel and when I told him he charged me what he quoted me, he said it could have been $75 per panel. It was obvious that he was going to say whatever he had to say to justify not giving me the discount I was entitled to. Bottom line: Make sure you get all charged and discounts in writing. I was disappointed in how they ignored me for days then gave a poor excuse. I said I would hire them again BUT if I did I would get everything in writing upfront!"

"I am very pleased to provide this reference for Exterior Team Home Services Inc., Ronaldo and his crew truly work as a team they were fast, sufficient, and the communication with Ronaldo was excellent, we knew exactly what he was going to do and when he was going to do it. The roof that we had replaced was over 25+ years old and on a home that was built in 1920, so this was a very hard job and we wanted to make sure we hired the correct company for the job. We have no regrets in our decision of hiring this company, they replaced the roof, almost all the old rafters as well and all the wood panels, they were old and in really bad shape. We also hired them to build a pavilion on the front of the home and it looks amazing. The project in total took 3 days (with a rain delay in-between) and they moved fast, and most importantly they cleaned everything into large dumpsters and made sure the area around the house with all the materials and debris that were taken off the house was 100 removed and hulled away. I would highly recommend using them should you be considering a new roof, also the pricing was very competitive, and we received about 15 quotes. We liked his services so much we also hired him to redo our bathroom, and some additional projects we have planned for the house."
