Jack had his team replace and install bamboo flooring. They did a great job with everything. In my closet, it looks like we ran out of wood. So I had to reorder one more box of wood. A week and half later, once the wood arrived and acclimated to the environment, Jack's team came back and finished the job. Overall great job."

They refinished the entire first level floors, replaced all floor boards, crafted and installed crown molding and did all the paint and touch ups. "Simply put, Premier Carpet & Flooring is the best flooring provider we have ever used. Brian, the owner, is a great guy and is very personable. My brother had used them for a big job, and based on his positive experience and seeing the work done myself first hand, I drove about an hour down to their store in Lawrenceville to check out the showroom. Although the company is down in Lawrenceville, they had no issue driving 1 hr or so to our home in Scotch Plains to perform the work. The quality of the product is excellent and the pricing is definitely more than reasonable and competitive. Brian worked with us, so we got everything we wanted product-wise for an amount within our desired budget given how big the project was. We can already see a big difference with our home after having the new flooring installed. The new carpeting looks great and really highlights the color of the walls now that we went with a lighter shade for the flooring. The LVT with cork backing we had installed in a smaller room in our basement (will be used as an office now) looks beautiful. Brian's crew also installed quarter round and threshold molding around the LVT for a nice added touch. The crew, led by Augusto, was outstanding. They arrived on time and work very efficiently. It's actually very cool to watch how carpet is removed and installed on stairs, but you also see how laborious the process is. Augusto and his crew were clearly pros and made the process look quick and easy. The quality of their work cannot be justified by an Angie's List review, you have to see it in person to appreciate how great a job they do. Augusto and his crew were even courteous enough to add some additional quarter round they found in their truck to a section of our basement where the old quarter round had previously broken off. The clean up was much appreciated as well. These guys brought their own trash bags, brooms, and wet/dry vacuum and were constantly cleaning up both during and after the work was done--you'd have never even known they were there. Ultimately, this was a great experience from start to finish and I have already recommended Premier to all my family and friends. We will definitely use them in the future as needed.

"Person who took the job and the person who carried it out were different. Apparently they didn't communicate the details properly. Therefore, the job wasn't finished exactly the way it was promised to be finished. More specifically, the stairs were promised to be done with contractor's own material, which would be hand-finished hardwood material. The actual installer used engineered wood that I had purchased to finish the stairs, costing me more money, and providing less quality than promised. The rest of the work was done as promised, and it is satisfactory. Promises were made, but not followed through."

HIRE THIS MAN! Integrity, artistry, and honesty -- we love Sam!

My boyfriend, Peter, and I had just closed on our new house on the Friday and wanted to refinish our hardwood floors before we moved in. Weeks earlier I had scheduled someone to give us an estimate the day after the closing (to start the following Monday), but when that contractor arrived he told us that the floors were irreparably damaged because the previous owners had painted them rather than stained them. He said we would be better off installing new floors, which he would be happy to do for about 4 times the cost of what he told me over the phone. He also told us that the flooring that we did have was not nice enough to sand and polyurethane, anyway, and if we still wanted to go that route, we would have to find someone else. We told him that we would have to think about it and waved goodbye.

I immediately got on the Internet and found Sam's Hardwood Flooring (Loc Pham). He came out the next day (Sunday) and said that he could do the job despite the black paint. He also cautioned us that the floors might be a little damaged by the paint; we wouldn't know until after the sanding. We assured him that we like "character" in hardwood floors. In fact, we were hoping that the floors would be heart pine with lots of knots and variation in the grain as well as nail holes and age, but it turned out that the floors were a soft pine (less interesting but old enough to still have character.) Anyway, Sam and his team started work on the Wednesday and were done Friday afternoon, a week after we closed on the house! He sanded the floors to their original 1878 beauty and put down three coats of polyurethane (satin finish).

Since Peter is very busy at work (in Philly), and since I live and work up in Boston, we were glad that we felt very comfortable giving Sam the keys to the house for the three days. He, Peter, and I stayed in communication via text and telephone throughout the process. Peter stopped by before the finishing to see if we wanted to stain or just polyurethane (a debate that Peter and I had for months before we even bought the house). I was FaceTimed in to the discussion. In the end we decided the floors were simply so pretty that we would just do the poly to emphasize the old country charm of the wood. I mean, the floors look F'ng AMAZING! We are beyond thrilled.

That first guy obviously thought he would upsell us. The other day I ready a quote in a design magazine, "Only in America would a person rip up high quality 150 year old hardwood flooring worth $15 - $20 per square foot only to install inferior and flimsy modern flooring worth $3 per square foot." I laughed. In the end our project was affordable and we got the real deal.
