"Our job is replacement of broken siding boards. Three parts. First, initial on-site meeting with Tim Gentry. He was on time, courteous and explained well-known problems with CertainTeed siding. He explained options to repair existing fractures and cracks. After the initial meeting Tim sent an estimate/contract. It was consistent with onsite walk around. Second, the crew showed up on scheduled date and time. They came prepared with tools & equipment necessary to do the work. They had adequate replacement (Hardi-Plank siding) boards. The work was completed on schedule and included repair to caulking and replacement pieces in high spots. This is a family construction company - they worked together. The lead man, Gary - Tim's dad nailed loose boards to provide a uniform surface area, ready to be painted in two weeks. Finally, third - they removed damaged boards and cleaned up the work site. I appreciated the thorough construction process explanation given to me about the job. Thanks Tim."

"It was fine. I had a little bit of a problem but I worked it out with the manager and everything was fine. It took a little bit of time. It took a while to get them out here so the owner of the company discounted the work for me. I thought they were fine. I would use them again. I had to pay for the paint because the deal didn't come with paint. He was wonderful. He explained things to me. He took a hundred dollars off and I was happy. What happened wasn't their fault. "The exposed cedar lap siding on my chimney chase had deteriorated over 35 years and needed to be replaced. After checking online reviews, I got a few bids for the job. Pricing was very similar. I selected Joseph Ketner Construction because Joe responded in a timely manner, came out to look at the chimney, explained in detail what should be done, and returned at a later date to explain his bid personally. I could tell he has a commitment to quality work. To prevent insect and moisture intrusion, Joe recommended changing the way the old siding was attached. When I was ready to start the project, his office manager Petra was in frequent contact. The first work date set was not within my requested time frame, but they moved it up. The day Joe and his crew came, rain was forecast in the afternoon which would not be good for applying two coats of paint on the boards. They agreed to postpone starting until the next day which was to be sunny. Joe had Lakeside Lumber deliver materials including pre-primed tight knot cedar siding, a very close match to my old siding. His crew took my leftover house paint and had an exact match mixed. Armando, Jay and Jerry came the next day and worked diligently. Armando said he has been working with Joe for ten years. I was surprised at how quiet and neat they were. The first coat of paint was applied in the morning to all the pre-primed boards as they lay on the protected driveway. The second coat was applied in the afternoon as the boards were placed on the chimney chase. They used new step flashing between the roof and the chimney and left the recommended gap between the boards and the roof. They also patched and painted a couple of bad spots in barge rafters. They cleaned up meticulously. The chimney chase looks great, and is sealed better than the original. I would definitely hire Joseph Ketner Construction for a future project."
