"Ambrosio was friendly and kind, made a thorough search through the attic and rooms of the house to evaluate the roof leak and resulting mold, and gave a detailed estimate of all the work that would be involved in remediation. Didn't charge for gas or estimate. We since haven't been able to get in contact for next steps, but appreciated the timely and thorough response for our initial request for evaluation."

"We hired Lex Construction for siding replacement and exterior paint, which included replacing two windows, some general construction to repair bulges in the studs and some roofing/fascia board repair. Of all the companies we had bid, we really felt like Mike listened to our vision and didn’t feel the need to rearrange it to his preference. He also gave us some great suggestions and recommendations, some which we decided to go ahead with and some not. The price was really reasonable, and we ended up adding the front deck replacement mid-project. Both Mike and Troy were responsive and courteous, and did a great job, as well as the contractors that covered the roofing and paint. A few minor details were missed between what we discussed and what they executed, but nothing major. Overall we were really happy with them, and plan to use them again for additional projects we have in mind. We highly recommend them for your next project!"

"We had this work done in 2019. Overall I'm extremely pleased with the work. These guys worked very hard to do a clean job and complete their task. I also appreciated that they cleaned up after themselves at the end of each day. Very reasonably priced too."

"My crawl space was flooded due to a hot water leak, major moisture damage and unfortunately I did not know about Willamette restoration and used another company to dry out crawl space but walls in laundry room and entry had to be tore down and that's when Willamette Restoration came into picture and saved the day. They completed the finish work walls, flooring, countertop, painting, replacing cabinets and I cannot say enough about their professionalism, timely manner in getting the job done. They went above and beyond my expectations and their cost was far less than a quote by another company. If you want excellent workmanship Willamette Restoration should be your company of choice."

FAQs for toxic lead testing projects in Boring, OR

If your home was built before 1978, there’s a strong chance it contains lead-based paint. Many pre-1980 houses also contain lead in their plumbing and decorative materials, so age alone is a significant red flag. Older homes near industrial areas face an even higher risk. Because you can’t confirm lead by sight, scheduling a test is the safest way to protect your family.

In older houses, lead can lurk in painted trim, window sashes, soil around the foundation, plumbing pipes, and even vintage hardware. The metal is toxic, and children and pregnant women are most at risk. Exposure can trigger developmental delays, learning problems, and organ damage. Because the EPA links even low levels to serious health effects, test every suspected surface and address any hazards right away.

A positive test means lead is present somewhere you can touch, breathe, or disturb. The next step is a full risk assessment to map exactly where the hazard lies and outline the safest fix: encapsulation, enclosure, or full removal. Repairs start at $1,000 but can exceed $10,000 for complete elimination, so act quickly and hire certified pros to keep your family safe.

EPA lead certification proves that inspectors, risk assessors, and abatement contractors follow federal safety rules under the Renovation, Repair, and Painting (RRP) Program. The credential costs an average of $300, and certified professionals can legally test, contain, or remove lead hazards. Hiring a certified pro protects you from fines and ensures the work meets strict health standards.

Lead-based paint looks no different from any other paint, so you can’t identify it by color or sheen. Even flawless walls may hide it. If paint starts chipping, flaking, or peeling, schedule a professional test right away. Only laboratory-grade testing confirms lead and guides the safest fix for your home.
