"I would NEVER, EVER hire this company again. I signed a contract January 2018 with the understanding the project would be started within a few months. Well, that did not happen. In November 2018 I was told the project would start the 1st of the year. I was jerked around until the week before Memorial Day, 2019. I was also told that once the framing goes up, it takes 9 days to complete the job. NOT. The owner Steve was at my house and guaranteed the project would be completed by the 4th of July, but did not say what year. I also requested a new storm door; Steve said because of my patience he would install for free. Finally at Labor Day, I requested that they install the floor since I had patio furniture I wanted to have delivered. My roof keep leaking, I sent 4 emails and all I got from Steve was a song and a dance. He also reminded me that he "gave" me a $700 storm door. After many emails I finally made a phone all. The roofer finally came out and there was no flashing on the roof. A roofer's only job is to install a roof, and they did not put flashing down. The windows were too big and when i spoke with Steve, he again reminded me that he "gave" me a new storm door for $700 and again danced around the incompetence. The windows were fixed, they were too large for the windows and the frames came off, incompetence work. After all the trouble I went through, I WOULD NEVER EVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE. Their customer service sucks, the quality of work is not that good. I still own the final payment and my plan is to also pay for the storm door and Steve, the owner, WILL NEVER THROW THAT IN MY FACE AGAIN."

FAQs for metal awning or patio cover installation and replacement projects in Boston, MA

Yes, you can paint your metal awning using oil-based paints to give it a fresh new look and protect it from corrosion. Oil-based paints are durable and help preserve the awning's structural integrity. Keep in mind that painting an aluminum awning costs $2.50 to $3.50 per square foot. Be sure to hire a painter who specializes in awning painting to get the best results.

Metal awnings are incredibly durable and offer excellent protection against the elements for your home. They resist sun, rain, and snow, keeping your space safe and comfortable. Stainless steel and copper awnings provide outstanding longevity and structural integrity, while aluminum awnings are more affordable without sacrificing performance. Plus, their sturdy construction can improve energy efficiency and boost your home's curb appeal.

While metal awnings are durable, they can be more expensive than other types, so they might not be ideal if you're on a tight budget. They also offer fewer customization options compared to fabric awnings, so you might have limited choices in style or color. Additionally, metal awnings are fixed in place and harder to adjust, so you won't be able to raise or lower them easily based on the weather.

Yes, metal awnings can increase your home's value by enhancing its curb appeal and providing more usable outdoor space. Their sturdy design not only improves the look of your home but can also contribute to energy savings. If you opt for motorized awnings, they add a touch of sophistication that can be especially appealing to potential buyers when you're ready to sell.

Metal awnings can last 20 to 30 years with proper maintenance. To keep them in good shape, regularly clean them with a vinegar and water solution a few times each season to prevent buildup and corrosion. If your awning has electronic components, be sure to service them routinely. Taking care of any damage promptly will help your awning perform its best and extend its lifespan.
