"Basically things went well.  When we had questions or concerns, they were addressed promptly. All the painters were pleasant and professional.  I reserved my review until a year passed  because the quality of a paint job cannot be analyzed immediately.  We did have to call Clarke back after a year for some touch-up work.  They responded promptly and took care of the areas of concern. <br />"

"Ed and his crew did a fantastic job. They took one of my two garages and made it into an open concept living room and kitchen-area and opened. up a hallway to flow into the existing downstairs bedrooms and bath. The apartment came out beautiful, stayed within my budget and finished on time. The laminated floors and plaster walls came out flawless. <br /> <br />I highly recommend Ed Lenzi construction as I have sinced used Eds services to replace my wood deck with trex decking and later had Ed return for a third job to install a porch covering on one side of the deck. As usual the work came out beautiful and finished with budget. I receive countless compliments for the deck and porch. <br /> <br />Ed and his guys do wonderful work and I'm sure you will be thrilled with his workmanship and professionalism. I will only be calling Lenzi for any future projects. <br /> <br />"

"I cannot tell you how great Certified roofing was. Price, Professionalism , speed, quality and honesty. All the great things you look for in a vendor, Dion and team exceeded those expectations. Dion arrive right on time and his team went right to work. Even though he was doing a job for me, I felt honored to have him work on my house because he is genuinely a good human being. I would 100% recommend him to do any roofing work."

"While there were some delays due to rain, I have no complaints about the time it took to complete the project.  It took a little over two weeks.  Special care was taken around my windows and every piece was measured and cut to fit.  The age and angles of the house also added to the time it took to complete the project, and I appreciate the extra effort.  This was not a rush job just to "get it done on time".  I felt that they really cared about doing a quality job.  Brian, one of the owners (or managers) stopped by on a regular basis to see how things were going and to ask if I was happy.  At the end of the job, Team Vinyl cleaned up behind them and left me with a home that looks brand new.  Kevin, the man who did most of the work, kept me informed of the progress, explained what was happening when he ran into an unexpected problem, and asked me questions about my preferences on the finer details. I am still getting compliments on the job."

"Mr. Haas identified problems in our roof installation and issued a report. He suggested re-install and steps that we should take to get it done. It was a long process that involved county and DPOR. Mr. Haas was very helpful every step during the entire process. He is highly experienced and very responsive to our calls, text, and email. We eventually got the roof reinstalled in a very good quality. Mr. Haas was onsite multiple times to ensure the right materials and methods were used. It would not be possible without the help from Mr. Haas."

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Brattleboro, VT

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
