"We removed the wet pad and dried out the carpet and cement floor for a week. Gary came over to check out the situation and see the kind of pad we still had in place, then came back the next day with the replacement pad. He installed the pad, repaired some loose tack strip, and re-stretched the carpet. All went well and took about 90 minutes. We can't tell that anything happened to the carpet, and the pad feels the same as the original pad (it was about 2 years old)

"Eugene is so capable, talented and amazing! He single handedly put all of our furniture out of the way so he can start installing our floor. He removed the toilet to install the floor and FIX OUR TOILET! He then removed our refrigerator, range, and dishwasher ALL BY HIMSELF!! He originally told me he would have my floor done in 5 days but finished in 3 days. Before he left I asked him to give me an estimate for our carpeted area. We will have him install our carpet next. We requested some little things he even went right to Home Depot to help us finish the job. I will highly recommend using Flooring Pro Inc. "Our realtor recommended Floor Coverings Int'l as a company that could provide quick and reliable service for replacing old carpet in the home we were selling. Tony came to our home, showed us several options in several price ranges, did not try to push us too hard towards the pricier options (we were just looking for basic carpet), and gave good advice on color coordination with our walls and existing other floors. We ended up getting a quote for similar work (though without the range of options for carpet) from a Big Box Home Improvement Store, and Tony matched the price (~$300 less). We were able to schedule the work quite quickly (just before Thanksgiving, so not a really easy time of year), and the installer was very competent. The installer was quite good and the whole house was done quickly. They worked around a handyman who was doing some work in one of the bedrooms. They also sealed up a cracking linoleum seam in the kitchen as part of the deal."

The problem arose, when we paid him via check mailed from California and after a week he stated he did not receive the check.  We called the bank and it had not cleared so we asked him to give it another few days.  In the meantime he would call every night for a week and yell at us that he hadn't received his money, that he was going to sue us and go to court and put a lien on our property and then slam the phone down. 

The next day he would call and apologize but say he still didn't receive the check.  We issued a second check and sent it Certified Mail with USPS.  After 4 days, he stated he didn't receive it and that he called USPS and they said they'd lost it.  I called the same day and they verified that it was in Portland and would be delivered.  Again, Mike called every night yelling that he would sue us for his money, take us to court and put a lien on our property if he didn't receive his check and slam the phone down. 

Finally, after 3 weeks total, we explained to him we were putting a "stop payment" on both checks and re-issuing another check and sending it via FedEx.  Mike assured us that he would send back the previously issued checks if he received them and was WELL aware that he shouldn't cash them.  We called to make sure he received his check via FedEx and he said he did. 

Then a week later a ACE Cash Express, a check cashing company, called to say Mike Johnstone had cashed a check that we'd put a "stop payment" on.  We gave ACE Cash Express all l the information we could on Mr. Johnstone to help them recover their money. Another week went by and ACE Cash Express said we would be responsible for it.  We called our lawyer and he advised us that we were not to do anything or give them any money.   We called Mr. Johnstone but could never get through to him again.  We do not know the outcome of that situation.

We would strongly urge you to consider doing business with a person like Mike Johnstone as he is unethical, fraudulently cashes checks and is extremely UNprofessional.

After posting this negative update we received a phone message today from Mike Johnstone today--he was unkind, belligerent and demeaning.  He called my husband and unkind name and told us that since we posted this negative review that he was "going to fix us and just wait".  Please, I urge you to think before you deal with this person."
