"Chris came and measured the driveway and provided us with an estimate. After securing several bids, we chose Innovative Contractors, LLC. On the designated date, Chris and his crew arrived. After laying out the equipment, the demolition began. Well into the process, it was apparent we had an unusual driveway that was the exception to the rule. Instead of the usual 4 inches. the driveway depth ranged from 8 inches to 2 feet. It was a mess under there. They removed the demolition material, graded the under surface, covered the under-surface with a geothermal concrete blanket, made sure the new driveway will have the proper slant correcting a major problem the old driveway had. They filled the driveway with gravel. Here their progress was hindered by major rain occurring over several days. Finally, they got a break and were able to pour. Our neighbors all commented on how hard Chris' crew worked and that the driveway truly was a work of art. At least one of them is obtaining a quote from Chris. <br /> Chris and his crew were very professional, courteous and congenial. They always answered our questions and even anticipated questions at times. <br /> <br /> <strong>Unfortunately Innovative Contractors do not provide follow-up when a problem arises. Chris has been promising me for 2 years to come back an do a patch and answer some questions as to why the concrete has been cracking and hole appearing. and keeps saying he will come but must attend to another job.</strong>"

"The cabinet makers appeared promptly and on schedule. They were very pleasant, professional, skilled and hard-working.  A mess was never left behind. We were offered options for any details or changes. Tom always responded promptly to any of our calls or concerns. The  job would have been completed as scheduled, had it not been for the incorrect measurements of our new refrigerator, provided to us by the appliance dealer.  Two cabinets had to be re-customized to fit the correct dimensions of the refrigerator, but it was done in a timely manner.  This was the most peasant home improvement job we have ever experienced.  Our cost was exactly as provided to us in the estimates by Tom Sucher, owner of Chattanooga Cabinets.  He offered suggestions which we found both enhanced and improved the functionality of our kitchen--at a reasonable price. At no time, did we feel coerced or pressured into going beyond our established budget. We love the new face of our kitchen! <br />"

FAQs for cabinets reface projects in Bridgeport, AL

Absolutely. Refacing returns 65% to 80% of your investment at resale, and you get an updated kitchen right now. Because you’re not paying for new boxes or demo work, the price lands well below complete replacement but still delivers a fresh, custom look that buyers—and you—notice every time you walk in.

To trim costs, start by pricing a high-quality paint or gel stain instead of full refacing—stain alone can be one-third the price of full refacing. Keep existing hinges and pulls if they’re in good shape, and shop sales for sandpaper, primer, and sealer. The sweat equity is real, but so are the savings, and a careful DIY job can still leave your cabinets looking sharp for years to come.

A professional crew needs only three to five days to reface a standard kitchen, although a larger layout or intricate door style may add one to two days. Compare that with the several weeks a full cabinet swap can drag on. In other words, you get your space back fast, often before the paint on the new doors is even fully cured.

Yes, you can replace just the cabinet doors and drawer fronts without covering the cabinet boxes. Cabinet refacing involves installing new doors and drawer fronts while applying veneers to existing cabinet boxes. If you’re satisfied with the condition of your cabinets, swapping doors and drawer fronts reduces labor and materials, saving you time and cost. Always consult a professional to confirm compatibility and ensure a seamless, high-quality finish.

Most cabinet refacing projects do not require removing countertops because professionals can access doors and drawers around existing surfaces. However, if your countertop overhang prevents full access to the cabinet boxes, contractors may need to lift the countertop to install veneers properly temporarily. Discuss this with your refacing specialist during the on-site estimate so you know exactly what the project entails.
