"This is a follow up to my original review, after posting my review we were contacted by the moving company to appologize for any misunderstandings we had. They were more than accommodating to fix the differences we had. They refunded the money that was in dispute, they were actually more than fair in this process. I have already recieved the refund check. Once again the services they supplied was excellent and if it wasnt for the differences in the final bill we would be happy to say they did an excellent job moving my daughter. Also a big shout out to Home Advisor for how they stood by both the vendor and us in this issue. After moving my daughter once before my wife was very specific about what, where and how this move was to be. The total move was 20 blocks in Manhattan. It was a bedroom a sofa and a 40-inch flat screen TV. When my wife worked out all the arrangements, she received a *binding* bill. We are not moving experts but the movers are, so if they estimate a 4-hour move for twenty blocks we thought they would know. While moving my daughter out they left their truck unattended and got a parking ticket. They brought 2 wardrobe boxes and some tape. We had packed all of her kitchenware as well as much of her clothes. We drove to the new location which is where all the fun started. After bringing up some of the boxes and pieces they presented my wife with a revised bill that was almost double the price quoted in our binding estimate, at this point we were still in the 4-hour range but it seems tape is very expensive. After arguing for over an hour we gave in to a price that was hundreds of dollars over our binding price. If you dont agree then you dont get your furniture. This was an extremely unprofessional interaction. On top of which we never signed to be responsible for their parking ticket which they wanted on top of the new overcharged bill. We looked up NY state law which clearly states the moving company is solely responsible for their tickets, not us. This only made me question everything else they said. Against my wishes my wife still tipped the workers for their efforts, they were courteous and as helpful as their company allowed them to be. I will say if we didnt have all this nonsense about the revised billing their tip would have been much better."

Then when the move came, Danny and his team turned up and made the whole experience seem like a breeze when it can usually be immensely stressful. "My husband and I highly recommend Strongmile Movers. They made what would have been a very large and daunting move completely stress-free and easy. I found Strongmile on Yelp, and after reading all their great reviews, I decided to go with them, even though I had received (slightly cheaper) estimates and personal referrals from other companies and friends. When I called for information, Joe at Strongmile was clear, detailed, and professional about what his team would provide and what we could expect. We decided to have them drive the U-Haul, which was a great option since we filled a 26-foot truck. And, we actually had to push back our move date a few times due to closing issues, and Joe was able to accommodate us without a problem each time. The day before the move, Joe called to confirm details and go over everything again one final time, which was appreciated. When moving day came, four strong, professional movers (Rob, Justin, Casper, and another Rob) showed up promptly to move our many boxes and heavy furniture from our 1 bedroom apartment and storage unit to our new house. We had a LOT of stuff to move, and they packed up the truck and unloaded it again in record time. I will also add that it poured rain on our moving day--this did not deter them or slow them down one bit. They were very considerate about wrapping our furniture and laying down tarps to protect our floors and rugs. All we had to do was tell them where we wanted furniture and boxes to be placed, and off they went. The entire move was completed within the original estimated time frame -- and even finished sooner than expected! -- and the final cost of the experience landed us smack in the middle of the financial estimate initially provided by Joe. There were no hidden fees, no weird charges, etc. And, to top it all off -- these movers were really nice guys. Fun to talk to and be around, and that fact really helped make the day so much easier and enjoyable for us. We are so happy to provide a good review for them since they did such excellent work. We absolutely would use them again, and we happily and heartily recommend them to anyone looking for nice, professional, capable, and reasonably priced movers.

"Capital City Movers NYC are exceptional movers! Previously I had never found a moving company that I was overly satisfied with. I had posted in a facebook group and someone recommended them. I was hesitant at first but after speaking with the company I felt much more comfortable using them. They are pleasant to speak with and were very thorough when listing out the item move list. Their prices are also very reasonable. I was then able to modify the list as the move got closer and I had a better idea of what my list was. The day of the move the three movers arrived on time and were very efficient. They were careful with all my items and followed instructions thoroughly. I also thought they had great personalities. The three guys were very tall and very strong. I used foreman Peter and two other guys. I find a lot of moving company movers are miserable. During and after the move the company followed up to make sure the move went well. I would definitely use Capital City Movers NYC again. Thank you guys for everything!"
