"Contact Joel at Mentions Mechanical at your own risk. He will yell at you, lie to you, and change terms from one call to another. He is incredibly unprofessional. I called requesting an annual service contract for HVAC units at my building. He was interested in the work and based on his previous reviews I thought he would be a good contractor. I explained the problems I was having with my current contractor and he said I would have none of these problems with him. He sent a quote and then said he needed to come out to inspect the units. We scheduled a time in the future because he said he was going to San Francisco for certification. I texted him to confirm the time he agreed to. When I didn't hear from him I called. He started yelling at me on the phone. He now gave me a different story and said he was on vacation with his family and his flight was delayed because of a hurricane. He then said I was disturbing him when he had emergencies and reprimanded me for calling before 8:30 am even though he lists his hours starting at 7am. After finally completing the visit he said he would send the contract based on what we agreed to. He then called and said his partner, who he never mentioned before, requested changes to the contract. He said he would make the changes and send it, which he never did. Instead he blamed me for wasting his time and refused the work. Based on my experience with Joel it's hard to understand how he has received good reviews, but after reading them I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. Do not make this same mistake. Find someone else."
