"that Roberto and the crew did a great job on the retaining wall and driveway. The workmanship was excellent, and Roberto accommodated my every request for alterations in the design without question. In addition, his suggestions contributed to creating the finished product that I had envisioned."

"The fence installed by Minor Adjustments is very impressive and professionally done. I am quite pleased with their work and how efficient the crew works. They started and completed the project in a timely manner. They also did a great job cleaning up afterwards. Highly recommend this contractor for both big and small projects."

"I am having a truly unpleasant experience with 7th State Builders. I paid 14,450.00$ deposit in good faith. They were contracted to rebuild my deck, place a roof structure and screen on the deck. I trusted that they would complete the work. Instead, they took my money and one year later had not even started on the project. Not only did they fail to perform the agreed-upon services for the deck, but I was forced to hire an attorney to try and recover my deposit. Which I haven?t yet (over one year). Thus, creating unnecessary expenses to an already frustrating situation. I would strongly advise against using this company. They are unprofessional, uncommunicative, unreliable and clearly not trustworthy. My experience currently has been a complete waste of time, money and emotional energy. Dr. CLARICE BROWN "

"After getting several estimates from different companies, we decided to go with Nova LC. What set them apart was their knowledge of working with degraded land, which was exactly what we needed for our backyard pool installation. Other companies didn't seem as experienced in handling our specific situation, but Nova LC understood the challenges right from the start. Our project was huge—completely transforming our backyard with a pool, deck, and landscaping—and it took about 9 months from beginning to end. I had a lot of ideas about the design, and Tony, the owner, was incredibly patient and attentive. He didn’t just nod along; he gave thoughtful feedback and offered professional suggestions to improve my vision. It felt like a true collaboration, which I really appreciated. As with any big project, there were a few bumps along the way. However, whenever something came up, Tony and his crew worked quickly to come up with multiple solutions. They didn’t just push us toward one fix; they gave us options and explained the pros and cons of each, which made the decision-making process easier and less stressful. Installing a pool and deck is a major undertaking, but Nova LC made it as seamless as possible. Their attention to detail, communication, and ability to adapt to any issue really stood out. If you’re looking for a company that delivers high-quality work and uses high quality material and truly cares about the end result."

"My wife and I are incredibly satisfied with our renovated home. From the design work done by Dave at NRG to very efficiently use our limited space, to the on-schedule completion of the work to facilitate our tight move-out/move-in schedule, to the outstanding punch list finishing work the NRG team did to make the minor repairs involved in every home project, to NRG's doggedness and determination to make sure we are satisfied all the way to the finish line--we really couldn't ask for a better home renovation experience. Even after unexpected but essential change orders like a new roof and sistered first floor joists, and the inclusion of the unanticipated desires like the purchase and installation of the basement Murphy bed, NRG's original price estimate was within a couple percent of the final total, which really says something about the effort and quality Dave and the NRG team put into their work, their professionalism, and their determination to get it right. My wife and I got everything we wanted at the price NRG quoted, which was right smack in the middle of the five bids we received and was quite fair and reasonable. NRG's commitment to stand by their work has given me great peace of mind. We have had minor hiccups since moving back in, each of which has been successfully and quickly resolved, and whenever something unexpected occurs, I remember and rest on Dave's assurance: "If there's an issue, we'll fix it. We stand by our work." That's exactly what Dave and NRG have done. Dave is not just a general contractor, he also serves as a counselor and mentor throughout the renovation process whom you can trust."

FAQs for brick and stone patios, walks, and steps installation projects in Broomes-island, MD

When cleaning your flagstone patio, begin by gently hosing off loose dirt and debris. Use a mild solution of white vinegar and water or diluted dish soap to scrub the surface with a soft-bristled brush. Avoid using abrasive tools, such as wire brushes, as they can damage the stone’s seal and finish. This careful approach effectively removes mold and grime while preserving the natural beauty of your patio.

Flagstone naturally offers a neutral palette that includes shades of grey, black, red, yellow, brown, and tan, and its inherent color cannot be altered. Choosing varieties like bluestone provides a subtle bluish tint that complements many exterior designs. These natural hues enhance curb appeal and create a refined, timeless look in your outdoor space, ensuring a sophisticated finish with minimal upkeep.

Flagstone for a patio must have a minimum thickness of 1.5 inches to reliably support furniture and foot traffic. Using stone that is two to three inches thick is recommended to ensure lasting durability. The increased thickness prevents cracking under load and enhances long-term performance. Investing in thicker flagstone provides superior stability and resistance to weather conditions, ensuring your outdoor space remains both safe and attractive.

You can paint a flagstone patio by using a high-quality, outdoor elastomeric latex paint designed for heavy foot traffic. Painting not only refreshes the patio’s appearance but also creates a waterproof barrier that protects the stone from damage. Regular reapplication every one to two years maintains its durability and visual appeal, ensuring your patio remains both stylish and well-protected.
