"Taylor and Heath of Spaag Interiors are the absolute best at what they do!! Hands down!! Amazing work! They took time to understand our project, had every option to choose from and answered our questions. They're everything you want in a flooring contractor and they do a lot more than just floors. Just ask them and they've probably done it on the highest level. They're client list includes the most phenomenal houses in the La Crosse and surrounding area. Look up Castlelacrosse.com if you want an example. Taylor and Heath are fast, dependable, very fair priced and very caring about their clients. Our previous hardwood floor installer/re-finisher from years ago came recommended by a friend who owns about a hundred properties but he retired recently. He was outstanding at flooring and recommended Spaag Interiors as the best he'd ever seen if that tells you anything. We went with Brazilian cherry for the kitchen and it's gorgeous! My other house that used to belong to my dad is up next and we're looking at doing the entire house in a number of really unique hardwoods like Tiger Eye and Brazilian Pecan wood. I've never been happier and a project has never gone smoother as working with Taylor and Heath!! Thanks guys!!"

FAQs for wood flooring refinish projects in Brownsville, MN

Rental sanders can address moderate surface damage, but their effectiveness depends on scratch depth and overall floor condition. Drum sanders offer the most aggressive removal capability for deeper imperfections. However, if the damage extends into the wood structure or affects large portions of the floor, board replacement by an expert might be necessary before sanding. Consult a flooring professional for help.

Always thoroughly review the manufacturer's operating instructions before starting. Wear appropriate safety gear, including goggles to protect your eyes and a respirator to prevent inhalation of dust. Inspect electrical components before each use to prevent shock hazards. Keep children and pets away from the work area, and maintain a clean space by frequently vacuuming dust accumulation to prevent slipping and to ensure you can see well.

Sandpaper requirements depend on floor size, condition, and the sanding approach. Plan to use multiple grit levels (coarse, medium, and fine) with at least one to two sheets per 100 square feet for each grit. Floors with significant damage or multiple finish layers will require more coarse-grit sheets. Purchase extra supplies before beginning because running out mid-project can cause visible inconsistencies in the final result.
